''Love Never Turns Against'' is the eighth studio album by Japanese singer/songwriter Mari Hamada, released on June 21, 1988 by Invitation. Produced by Greg Edward, it is Hamada's second album to be recorded in the U.S. It began Hamada's transition from heavy metal to a more mainstream pop rock sound, featuring collaborations with Canadian producer/musician David Foster and Chicago bassist/vocalist Jason Scheff. The album was reissued alongside Hamada's past releases on January 15, 2014. ''Love Never Turns Against'' peaked at No. 4 on Oricon's albums chart. Mari Hamada
is a Japanese heavy metal and pop rock singer. Since her debut in 1983, Hamada has been known as the "Heavy Metal Queen" of Japan. Throughout her career, she has released 25 singles and 23 studio albums. Biography Early history Mari Hamada started singing when she joined a choir at elementary school and participated in recording TV commercial jingles while in junior high. While at Musashigaoka High School, she formed a punk rock band called "Mari Band". Heavy metal (or simply metal) is a genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom and United States. Chicago is an American rock music, rock band formed in Chicago, Illinois, in 1967. The group began calling themselves the Chicago Transit Authority in 1968, then shortened the name in 1969. Jason Randolph Scheff (born April 16, 1962) is an American bassist, singer, and songwriter. From 1985 to 2016, he was the bassist and one of the lead vocalists for the rock band Chicago; he is the longest-serving member in the bassist/vocalist position to date. Chicago In mid-1985, 23-year-old Scheff joined the multiplatinum band Chicago, after Peter Cetera had departed the band to continue his solo career. His lead vocals were debuted on the 1986 single " 25 or 6 to 4", a remake of their 1970 hit, then followed up with " Will You Still Love Me?"
