Love Gun Tour
The Love Gun Tour was a concert tour by Kiss, in support of ''Love Gun''. History This was the first tour where Ace Frehley sang lead vocals, on " Shock Me". The three Los Angeles shows were recorded for ''Alive II''. This is the only tour to feature the song "Hooligan" in the set list. This is the first tour to feature " Calling Dr. Love" in the set list. Cheap Trick and Styx were the opening acts throughout the tour. Criss had gotten injured when the van carrying equipment and the other members had overturned, when the band was practicing at an airport hangar and preparing to travel to Canada for the first show. ''Love Gun'' is the sixth studio album by American hard rock band Kiss, released on June 30, 1977. Casablanca Records and FilmWorks shipped one million copies of the album on this date. It was certified platinum and became the band's first top 5 album on the ''Billboard'' 200. The album was remastered in 1997 and again in 2014. Overview ''Love Gun'' is the first Kiss album to feature a lead vocal performance from Ace Frehley, making it the first to feature lead vocal performances from all four band members. It was also the last studio album to feature Peter Criss on every song, as he was replaced by session drummer Anton Fig for all but one song on 1979's ''Dynasty''. Before ''Love Gun'' was completed, a Gallup poll indicated that Kiss was the most popular band in the United States, beating Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin and the Eagles. "Rock and Roll All Nite" is a song by American rock band Kiss, originally released on their 1975 album '' Dressed to Kill''. It was released as the A-side of their fifth single, with the album track "Getaway". The studio version of the song peaked at No. 69 on the ''Billboard'' singles chart, besting the band's previous charting single, "Kissin' Time" (#89). TD Place Arena, originally the Ottawa Civic Centre, is an indoor arena located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, seating 9,500. With temporary seating and standing room it can hold 10,585. Opened in December 1967, it is used primarily for sports, including curling, figure skating, ice hockey and lacrosse. The arena has hosted Canadian and world championships in figure skating and ice hockey, including the first women's world ice hockey championship in 1990.
