Lost Wisdom
''Lost Wisdom'' is the second studio album by Mount Eerie, with Canadian musicians Julie Doiron and Frederick Squire. It was released on October 7, 2008 on P. W. Elverum & Sun, less than a month before Elverum's next album under the Mount Eerie name, ''Dawn'', was released, which featured songs from this album. A follow-up album, '' Lost Wisdom pt. 2'', was released in 2019, without Frederick Squire. Background and recording Elverum considers Doiron his favorite singer, and says recording with her was a "dream come true" for him. She was a member of Eric's Trip, an indie noise pop band from the early 1990s, and has since recorded numerous solo albums. Elverum considers Eric's Trip his favorite band of all time, and says the band is "the reason why I got into playing music". Frederick Squire is a Canadian rock singer, songwriter and guitarist. Mount Eerie
Mount Eerie is the musical project of American songwriter and producer Phil Elverum. Elverum (also of The Microphones) is the principal member of the band, but has collaborated with many other musicians on his records and in live performances. Most of Mount Eerie's releases have been issued on Elverum's label P.W. Elverum & Sun, Ltd., and feature highly detailed packaging with his own artwork. Noise Pop
Noise pop is a subgenre of alternative and indie rock that developed in the mid-1980s in the United Kingdom and United States. It is defined by its mixture of dissonant noise or feedback with the songcraft more often found in pop music. Shoegazing, another noise-based genre that developed in the 1980s, drew from noise pop. Metacritic is a website that review aggregator, aggregates reviews of films, TV shows, music albums, video games and formerly, books. For each product, the scores from each review are averaged (a weighted arithmetic mean, weighted average). Metacritic was created by Jason Dietz, Marc Doyle, and Julie Doyle Roberts in 1999. The site provides an excerpt from each review and hyperlinks to its source. A color of green, yellow or red summarizes the critics' recommendations. It is regarded as the foremost online review aggregation site for the video game industry. Metacritic's scoring converts each review into a percentage, either mathematically from the mark given, or what the site decides subjectively from a qualitative review. ''Blood'' is a 2001 album by the Microphones. It was handmade, and limited to 300 original copies. Included on the album were recordings and alternate versions of songs later found on '' The Glow Pt. 2'', in addition to sound collages, field recordings and other miscellany. Also included was a cover of Björk's "All Is Full of Love". Track three is significant because of the name it is credited to "the Thunderclouds." The Microphones
The Microphones are an American indie folk, indie rock, and experimental project from Olympia, Washington. The project was founded in 1996 and ended in 2003, with a short reunion following in 2007 and revivals in 2019 and 2020. Across every iteration of the Microphones, it has been fronted by Phil Elverum. Elverum is the principal songwriter and producer behind the band's albums, but he has also collaborated with other local musicians on his other recordings and tours. Many of Elverum's recordings from the project's initial period were released by the label K Records. Since 2003, Elverum has recorded and performed primarily under the name Mount Eerie. All Is Full Of Love
"All Is Full of Love" is a song by Icelandic musician Björk from her third studio album, ''Homogenic'' (1997). The lyrics were inspired by love in spring and Ragnarök of Norse mythology. Björk's original version is a trip hop ballad with Soul music, soul influences, harp, strings, and electronic beats; the version on ''Homogenic'' is a minimalist remix by Howie B, emphasising Björk's vocals. A remix by the German Intelligent dance music, IDM duo Funkstörung was released as a single in 1998. In 1999, "All Is Full of Love" was released as a single with a music video directed by Chris Cunningham. The video uses Björk's original mix, and depicts Björk as a robot being assembled in a factory, who passionately kisses another robot. Seven New Songs Of "Mount Eerie"
''Seven New Songs of "Mount Eerie"'' is the debut EP by Mount Eerie, released on June 1, 2004. Recording and release It was recorded in Anacortes, Washington in the months of May and June 2004 intended for the July 2004 tour of Australia. It was released on 196 CD-Rs in photocopied covers, all of which were sold out on the tour. Free audio downloads of the EP were later made available. It's been reported to have been downloaded over 36,000 times. Philip Whitman Elverum (; born May 23, 1978) is an American musician, songwriter, record producer and visual artist, best known for his musical projects The Microphones and Mount Eerie. Based in Anacortes, Washington, in the mid-2000s he began to spell his surname Elvrum as "Elverum". Life Phil Elverum was born on May 23, 1978, in Anacortes, Washington. Growing up, Elverum's father regularly made mixtapes for him and his sister. He soon started to play the tuba but after three years moved onto drums.
