Originally released in the United States via Embedded Records in 2005, it was re-released with additional bonus tracks in Europe via Definitive Jux in 2006. Cool Calm Pete
Peter Chung (born March 25, 1979), better known by his stage name Cool Calm Pete, is a Korean American rapper and producer from Seoul, Korea, who is currently based in Queens, New York. Cool Calm Pete has been profiled in major publications such as URB and XXL. He is a founding member of the hip hop trio Babbletron. Life and career Pete was born in Seoul, Korea and was moved to and raised in Queens, New York by the time he was a toddler. Cool Calm Pete attended Cooper Union and received his BFA in fine arts, focusing on painting. Pete is one of the three members of the hip-hop group Babbletron, alongside DJ Pre and Jaymanila. It featured production from RJD2 and MF DOOM, among others. Cool Calm Pete's debut solo album ''Lost'' was released in the United States on Embedded Music, and released in Europe on Definitive Jux. Definitive Jux
Definitive Jux was a record label based in New York City. It was co-founded in 1999 by El-P and Amaechi Uzoigwe. History Definitive Jux was initially known as Def Jux. However, popular hip hop label Def Jam Recordings sued Def Jux over the name similarity in 2001. This lawsuit was settled out of court and the name was officially changed to Definitive Jux. In February 2010, El-P announced that the label, although it will carry on selling its catalog and merchandise, would be put "on hiatus" as a traditional record label, and that it would be going through some changes in order to keep up with the evolution of the music industry. He also announced that he was stepping down as artistic director of Definitive Jux to focus on producing and being a full-time artist. AllHipHop is a hip hop news website founded by Greg Watkins and Chuck Creekmur in 1998. History The website was founded in 1998 by Greg Watkins and Chuck Creekmur. In 1997, Watkins registered the allhiphop.com domain to promote the artists on Oblique Recordings, a small record label he operated. The website provided music downloads to promote the label's artists. After reaching 30,000 downloads a month, Watkins struck deals with eMusic and other retailers to sell downloads. Creekmur, a freelance journalist, had launched a website, tantrum-online.com, in New York City. After merging the companies, they adapted Trantrum's exclamation point logo for AllHipHop. Michael Geoffrey Skinner (born 27 November 1979) is an English rapper, singer-songwriter, musician, and record producer. Best known for the music project the Streets, Skinner has also released music as a solo artist, as part of the D.O.T. with frequent collaborator Rob Harvey, and under the pseudonym The Darker the Shadow the Brighter the Light. Early life Skinner was born in Barnet, but grew up in West Heath, Birmingham. He started playing with keyboards at the tender age of five.
