''Look Forward to Failure'' is an EP released on November 10, 1998 by The Ataris on Fat Wreck Chords. This was the first album released to feature fan favorite "San Dimas High School Football Rules", a song that would later appear on '' Blue Skies, Broken Hearts...Next 12 Exits''. The band also intended on putting the song "That Special Girl" on ''Blue Skies, Broken Hearts'' as well but it didn't make the cut. The song features Mark Hoppus of Blink-182 on backing vocals. The version of "My Hotel Year" that appears on this EP is the electric version and contains an extra verse at the end. The version that ended up on ''Blue Skies'' was acoustic and shortened. The Ataris are an American punk rock band from Anderson, Indiana. Formed in 1996, they released five studio albums between 1997 and 2007. Their best-selling album is ''So Long, Astoria'' (2003), which was certified gold. Their high-charting single is the cover song "The Boys of Summer (song), The Boys of Summer" from ''So Long, Astoria''. The only constant member throughout their history has been singer/songwriter/guitarist Kristopher Roe. Chad Price
Chad Price is the lead singer for the melodic punk band ALL and alt-country band Drag the River. He is currently the lead singer for A Vulture Wake. He joined ALL in 1993 as the band's third singer, after Dave Smalley and Scott Reynolds. He has appeared on the four most recent studio albums, as well as one live album. He is officially still a member of the band, although Scott Reynolds has been joining the band on certain live dates. In 1996, while still active with ALL, Price formed Drag The River with Jon Snodgrass. Drag The River announced a break in 2007, although they were together again by 2008. Bass Guitar
The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. It is a plucked string instrument similar in appearance and construction to an electric or an acoustic guitar, but with a longer neck and scale length, and typically four to six strings or courses. Mike Davenport
Michael Sean Davenport (born 13 September 1968) is an American musician. Davenport was bass guitarist for The Ataris, joining the band in 1997 prior to the album '' Blue Skies, Broken Hearts...Next 12 Exits'' in which Davenport co-wrote the song "In Spite of the World". He also played bass on the album '' End Is Forever'' and the EP ''Look Forward to Failure'' on Fat Wreck Chords. After numerous recordings, tours, and a major label release with The Ataris, '' So Long Astoria'' in which he co-wrote the song "The Hero Dies in this One" about his father Francis Davenport, who died in a car accident in Santa Barbara county when Davenport was just 19 years old.
