Lola Beccaria is a Spanish writer who is based in Madrid. Life Beccaria was born in Ferrol in Galicia in 1963. She has a doctorate in Hispanic studies. She has written several novels which have been translated into a number of different languages. She has created a musical based on "The Little Match Girl" as well as some film scripts. Ferrol, Galicia
Ferrol () is a city in the Province of A Coruña in Galicia, on the Atlantic coast in north-western Spain, in the vicinity of Strabo's Cape Nerium (modern day Cape Prior). According to the 2021 census, the city has a population of 64,785, making it the seventh largest settlement in Galicia. With Eume to the south and Ortegal the north, Ferrol forms the Ferrolterra comarca, and together with A Coruña forms the second largest conurbation in Galicia, with a total population of 640,000 in 2016. "The Little Match Girl" ( da, Den Lille Pige med Svovlstikkerne, meaning "The little girl with the sulphur-sticks", i.e. matches) is a literary fairy tale by Danish poet and author Hans Christian Andersen. The story, about a dying child's dreams and hope, was first published in 1845. It has been adapted to various media, including animated, live-action, and VR films as well as television musicals. Summary On a freezing New Year's Eve, a poor young girl, shivering and barefoot, tries to sell matches in the street. Afraid to go home because her father would beat her for failing to sell any matches, she huddles in the alley between two houses and lights matches, one by one, to warm herself. ''Fotogramas'' is Spanish digital and print film magazine which has been in circulation since 1946. It is one of the early film magazines in Spain. History Founded in Barcelona, it was first published on 15 November 1946 by Antonio Nadal-Rodó and María Fernanda Gañán. On 5 February 1951, the magazine awarded their first Placa de San Juan Bosco award to actor Jesús Tordesillas for his performance in 1950 film ''Pequeñeces''. In the 1970s the magazine was part of the Nadal Group. New categories were added over time to the award which were renamed Fotogramas de Plata and in 2012 they absorbed the TP de Oro awards. Premio Nadal is a Spanish literary prize awarded annually by the publishing house Ediciones Destino, part of Planeta. It has been awarded every year on 6 January since 1944. The Josep Pla Award for Catalan literature is given at the same ceremony. The current monetary award stand at €18,000 for the winner and since 2010 there has been no runner-up. Premio Azorín
The Premio Azorín de Novela (Azorín Prize for Best Novel) is one of the most important literary awards for works written in the Spanish language. It was originally created by Spain's Ministry of Information and Tourism in 1970. The modern form of the award was created in 1994, by the Spanish provincial government (diputación) of Alicante together with Editorial Planeta (Planeta Publishing House). The prize honors one of the finest Spanish writers of the so-called "Generation of 98", José Augusto Trinidad Martínez Ruíz (1873-1967), who used to sign his works under the pseudonym of Azorín. The prize is given annually to a non-published and original novel, whose author receives 68.000 € (some 93.000 dollars). As part of the prize, Planeta publishes the awarded novel.
