Lok Insaaf Party was founded in 2016 by Simarjit Singh Bains. It contested 2017 Punjab Legislative Assembly election on 5 seats in alliance with Aam Aadmi Party. 2017 Punjab assembly election LIP contested 2017 Punjab assembly election on 5 seats. It formed coalition with Aam Aadmi Party. Party able to get only 2 seats out of 5. It got 26.46% votes in 5 seats but 1.22% overall votes. Simarjit Singh Bains
Simarjeet Singh Bains is an Indian politician from the state of Punjab and was a former member of the Punjab Legislative Assembly. Political career Between 2012 and 2022, Bains represented the Atam Nagar Assembly constituency of Punjab. Simarjeet Bains started his career as an independent member of the Punjab Legislative Assembly. Along with his brother, Balwinder Singh Bains, he established the Lok Insaaf Party and made an alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party for the 2017 Punjab Legislative Assembly election. Bains also contested as an independent candidate from Ludhiana in 2014 general elections and gathered 2,10,917 votes. Balwinder Singh Bains is an Indian politician from the state of Punjab and a former member of the Punjab Legislative Assembly. Political career In 2012 he contested as an independent candidate and won the election. In 2016 along with his brother Simarjit Singh Bains he formed Lok Insaaf Party. Member of Legislative Assembly Between 2012 and 2022, as Member of the Legislative Assembly, Bains represented the Ludhiana South Assembly constituency of Punjab. In 2022 Punjab Legislative Assembly election he contested from his constituency Ludhiana South Assembly constituency and was defeated by Rajinder Pal Kaur of Aam Aadmi Party. The Aam Aadmi Party (; AAP) is a political party in India, as one of the national political parties. The AAP was founded in November 2012 by Arvind Kejriwal and his then-companions following the 2011 Indian anti-corruption movement, popularly known as Anna Andolan. 2017 Punjab Legislative Assembly Election
A Legislative Assembly election was held in the Indian state of Punjab on 4 February 2017 to elect the 117 members of the Fifteenth Punjab Legislative Assembly. The counting of votes was done on 11 March 2017. 2019 Indian General Election
