Lodge Farm
The Lodge Farm estate is located in the area of Short Heath, Willenhall, Short Heath in the town of Willenhall, which is in the Metropolitan Borough of Walsall. The estate is centred primarily within the interior loop of Stroud Avenue. It comprises mainly current and former council properties and a smaller number of more recently built private houses. It is closely connected to the Brackendale estate, which is situated around the exterior loop of Stroud Avenue and comprises mainly detached and semi-detached private housing whose construction pre-dates that on the Lodge Farm estate. Due to their close proximity, the two estates are often mistaken for each other. It is served by a small number of convenience stores and is also home to one pub called The Homestead. For many years, it was also served by a pub called the Cavalcade, but this has now been demolished and the land will possibly be used for housing. Short Heath is a residential area situated north of the market town of Willenhall, in the Metropolitan Borough of Walsall, West Midlands, England. Short Heath is a ward in the Walsall North constituency, and is bordered by the neighbouring walls of Bentley and Darlaston North, Birchills Leamore, Willenhall North, and Willenhall South. The population of the ward is approximately 11,374, according to a mid-2018 ward-level population estimate published by the ONS. The area contains housing developments, several schools, and a number of businesses and shops. Wednesfield is a town and historic village in the City of Wolverhampton, West Midlands, England, It is east-northeast of Wolverhampton city centre and about from Birmingham and is part of the West Midlands conurbation. West Midlands Metro
The West Midlands Metro (originally named Midland Metro) is a light-rail/tram system in the county of West Midlands, England. Opened on 30 May 1999, it currently consists of a single route, Line 1, which operates between the cities of Birmingham and Wolverhampton via the towns of Bilston, West Bromwich and Wednesbury, running on a mixture of reopened disused railway line (the Birmingham Snow Hill to Wolverhampton Low Level Line) and on-street running in urban areas. Bloxwich North Railway Station
Bloxwich North railway station serves the town of Bloxwich, in the Metropolitan Borough of Walsall, West Midlands, England. The station, and all trains serving it, are operated by West Midlands Trains. History The Chase Line from Walsall to Hednesford was reopened by British Rail to passenger trains in 1989. Bloxwich North station opened the following year, on 2 October 1990, to serve an area of new housing on the northern edge of the town. Bloxwich
Bloxwich is a historic market town in the Metropolitan Borough of Walsall, West Midlands, England. It is located between the towns of Walsall, Cannock, Willenhall and Brownhills. Early history Bloxwich has its origins at least as early as the Anglo-Saxon period, when the place name evidence suggests it was a small Mercian settlement named after the family of Bloc (Bloxwich, earlier Blochescwic, meaning "Bloc's village"). Some 19th-century works suggest that at one time Bloxwich was a settlement in the ancient manor of Wednesbury. There is no conclusive evidence for this and Bloxwich has since at least medieval times been associated with the manor and town of Walsall (which for reasons unknown does not appear in the Domesday Book of 1086).
