Llandegfan (; ; meaning ''The Church of St Tegfan'') is a village on the east of island of Anglesey in Wales. It is part of the community of Cwm Cadnant.Davies (2008) p.180 Population is around 1,580. History and description The original village, Hen Llandegfan or Hen Landegfan, was on the ancient way from the crossing of the Menai Strait at Menai Bridge via Pentraeth to Beaumaris. St Tegfan's Church, the mother church of Beaumaris, has been greatly restored. Llandegfan has expanded greatly in recent decades and is continuing to expand in the 21st century, notably in the extension to the Mill Lodge estate and along Lon Ganol. Almost all of this expansion is centred on the modern village centre to the south and east of the old windmill. The village is expanding for various reasons, including its proximity to Bangor, where many of the residents of Llandegfan work, and to the A55, and the views from the village over to the mountains of Snowdonia. Anglesey League
The Anglesey Football League was a football league in Anglesey, Wales, and was equivalent to the sixth level of the Welsh football league system in North Wales. The champions were promoted to the Gwynedd League. The league also runs five cup competitions which are (Current holders in brackets) Lucas Oil Cup (Bryngwran Bulls), Dargie Cup (Bryngwran Bulls), Elias Cup (Arriva Bangor), Megan Cup (Holyhead Hotspur Reserves) and the Bwlch Car Boot Trophy (Arriva Bangor). Cwm Cadnant
Cwm Cadnant is a community and former electoral ward in Anglesey, north Wales. Named after the local river, Afon Cadnant, which flows through it, the community takes in the area between the Menai Bridge and Beaumaris. The community includes the villages of Llandegfan, Hen Bentref Llandegfan and Llansadwrn and at the 2001 census it had a population of 2,222, increasing slightly to 2,254 at the 2011 census. Prior to the 2013 Isle of Anglesey County Council election Cwm Cadnant was an electoral ward in its own right. It is now part of the Seiriol ward, which includes the neighbouring Beaumaris, Llanddona, and Llangoed communities. The lower part of the Afon Cadnant, which passes through part of Llandegfan is Cadnant Dingle, a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Menai Bridge
Menai Bridge ( cy, Porthaethwy; usually referred to colloquially as Y Borth) is a town and community on the Isle of Anglesey in north-west Wales. It overlooks the Menai Strait and lies by the Menai Suspension Bridge, built in 1826 by Thomas Telford, just over the water from Bangor. With a population of 3,376, it is the fifth largest town on the island. The built-up area including Llandegfan had a population of 4,958. There are many small islands near the town, including Church Island. The Menai Heritage Bridges Exhibition celebrates the Menai Suspension Bridge, built by Thomas Telford, and the Britannia Bridge, built by Robert Stephenson. Anglesey
Anglesey (; cy, (Ynys) Môn ) is an island off the north-west coast of Wales. It forms a principal area known as the Isle of Anglesey, that includes Holy Island across the narrow Cymyran Strait and some islets and skerries. Rhun ap Iorwerth (born 27 August 1972) is a Welsh journalist and politician serving as the Deputy Leader of Plaid Cymru since 2018. He has been the Member of the Senedd (MS) for Ynys Môn since 2013. Louise Elliott (born 1969, in Ashington) is a Welsh people, Welsh broadcaster and journalist. Robert Ap Huw
Robert ap Huw (or ''Hugh''; c.1580 – 1665), was a Wales, Welsh harpist and music copyist. He is most notable for compiling a manuscript, now known as the ''Robert ap Huw manuscript'', which is the main extant source of ''cerdd dant'' and is a late medieval collection of harp music. It is one of the most important sources of early Welsh music. Life history Robert ap Huw was born circa 1580, growing up in the settlement of Llanddeusant, Anglesey, Llanddeusant on the island of Anglesey.
