Anglesey League
The Anglesey Football League was a football league in Anglesey, Wales, and was equivalent to the sixth level of the Welsh football league system in North Wales. The champions were promoted to the Gwynedd League. The league also runs five cup competitions which are (Current holders in brackets) Lucas Oil Cup (Bryngwran Bulls), Dargie Cup (Bryngwran Bulls), Elias Cup (Arriva Bangor), Megan Cup (Holyhead Hotspur Reserves) and the Bwlch Car Boot Trophy (Arriva Bangor). League members also compete in the North Wales Coast Junior Cup against fellow league members and members from the Caernarfon & District League and the Clwyd League. The league folded in 2020 due to a reorganisation of the Welsh football league pyramid, with many teams joining the North Wales Coast West Football League. Llangefni Town F
Llangefni (meaning "church on the River Cefni", ) is the county town of Anglesey in Wales and contains the principal offices of the Isle of Anglesey County Council. United Kingdom Census 2011 recorded Llangefni's population as 5,116 people, making it the second largest settlement in the county. The community includes the village of Rhosmeirch. Location The town is near the centre of Anglesey, and is on the River Cefni, after which it is named. Anglesey (; cy, (Ynys) Môn ) is an island off the north-west coast of Wales. It forms a principal area known as the Isle of Anglesey, that includes Holy Island across the narrow Cymyran Strait and some islets and skerries. Bryngwran Bulls F
Bryngwran is a village and community in Anglesey Wales, located on the A5 trunk road. It lies west of Llangefni, south west of Llannerch-y-medd and south east of Holyhead, and includes the villages of Bryngwran, Capel Gwyn and Engedi. At the 2001 census the community had a population of 781, increasing to 894 at the 2011 census. The village itself has a population of around 400. Saint Peulan's Church stands in an isolated position at Llanbeulan, in the south east of the community. A medieval building, it partly dates from the 12th century, but was extended in the 14th, and restored in the mid-19th century. The gritstone font dates from late 12th century. It is considered an example of a "rural medieval church retaining its simple character" and is Grade II* listed. Trearddur or Trearddur Bay ( cy, Bae Trearddur) is a village, seaside resort and community south of Holyhead on the west coast of Holy Island off the north-west coast of Anglesey in Wales. The community includes the small settlement of Penrhosfeilw and the Refail Farm estate. Name Historically the bay on which the village sits was known as Porth y Capel (Welsh: ''bay of the chapel'') and the nearby dunes as Towyn y Capel (''dune of the chapel''). The village name is recorded variously as Treffyarddr, Tre Iarthur and Trefarthur with Trearddur first recorded in 1749. All versions signify the ''settlement of Iarddur'', a key figure in the Middle Ages. Gaerwen () is a village on the island of Anglesey in the community of Llanfihangel Ysgeifiog. It is located in the south of the island west of Llanfairpwllgwyngyll and southeast of Llangefni . The A5 runs through the village, and the A55 runs just a few hundred metres north. According to the 2011 Census Gaerwen is now listed by the Office for National Statistics as Llanfihangel Ysgeifiog. The population of the community is 1,551. Gaerwen and Pentre Berw, Llangaffo are trio villages. The village gets its name from a combination of the Welsh words ''Caer'' (mutated to ''Gaer''), meaning 'fortification', and ''Wen'', meaning 'white'. There are no clear remains of a fort in the area, although the name was originally that of a farm in the area, before becoming the name for the entire settlement.
