Electric Wizard are an English doom metal band from Dorset. The band formed in 1993 and have recorded nine studio albums, two of which have been considered genre landmarks: ''Come My Fanatics…'' (1997) and ''Dopethrone'' (2000). Electric Wizard's brand of doom metal incorporates stoner and sludge traits, with lyrics focusing on the occult, witchcraft, H. P. Lovecraft, horror films and cannabis. In 2014 they formed Witchfinder Records, an imprint of Spinefarm Records, on which they plan to release all future albums. History Pre–Electric Wizard (1988–1993) The origins of Electric Wizard go back to 1988 when Jus Oborn formed the band Lord of Putrefaction. Dorset ( ; archaically: Dorsetshire , ) is a county in South West England on the English Channel coast. A remastered version was then released on CD and LP in 2006, with two bonus tracks, taken from a demo entitled ''Doom Chapter''. "The Wizard" is a song by the English heavy metal rock band Black Sabbath from their 1970 album ''Black Sabbath''. "The Wizard" was selected as their debut single in France, backed by " Evil Woman" which was released as A-side in many other countries. Spinefarm Records is a Finnish independent record label focusing mainly on heavy metal artists. It is a subsidiary of Universal Music Group.
