Live à Bercy
''Live à Bercy'' is the second live album by Mylène Farmer, released on 21 May 1997. It was also produced as a video. Background After the successful concerts tour of 1996, whose shows were spread out from 25 May to 15 December, a live album was recorded and produced by Thierry Suc, and sponsored by NRJ. It was remixed in studio to give it a better sound. The re-orchestrations, composed by Laurent Boutonnat, were very dynamic with very rock sonorities. The photos illustrating the booklet were realized by Claude Gassian. The track listing contains songs from the four studio albums of Farmer, but '' Anamorphosée'' was sharply privileged, because all its songs were included on the album, except "Eaunanisme". This live album was released on 21 May 1997.''Le Dictionnaire des Chansons de Mylène Farmer'', Benoît Cachin, 2006, Tournon Ed., p. 188-190 In May, a musical video of the concert was also realized, first as a VHS. Comme J'ai Mal
"Comme j'ai mal" (English: "How Much I Suffer") is a 1996 song recorded by French singer-songwriter Mylène Farmer. Fourth single from her fourth album '' Anamorphosée'', it was released on 1 July 1996. It was a relative failure: indeed, it failed to reach the top ten in France and was the least-selling single from the album. Background In June 1996, Farmer continued her concert tour through France that she had begun on 25 May, while her fourth studio album '' Anamorphosée'' was a success despite a lack of promotion. However, on 15 June, the singer fell at her concert in Lyon and broke her wrist, forcing her to stop her tour. Libertine (song)
"Libertine" () is a 1986 song recorded by French artist Mylène Farmer. It was the third single from her first studio album '' Cendres de lune'' and was released on 1 April 1986. It was particularly known for its huge music video, produced as a film and which contains explicit sexual and violent scenes. It met success on the French chart, becoming thus Farmer's first big hit. In 2002, the song was successfully covered by Belgian singer Kate Ryan, who reached the top 20 in several European countries. Background and composition The song was inspired by a rock music song, "L'Amour tutti frutti", composed in 1984 by Jean-Claude Déquéant. It had not achieved success at the time, but was appreciated by the duo Farmer / Boutonnat who wanted to use it for their next song. Although it is one of her very few songs for which she didn't write the lyrics herself, Farmer can be credited with the origin of the song, because when she was doing singing tests on the demo version of the music, she ...

The song marked her only collaboration with American movie screenwriter and director Abel Ferrara, who directed the very expensive music video in which Farmer appears both as a bourgeois woman and a prostitute. A tribute to California, the song is generally deemed one of Farmer's signature songs and has been performed during most of the singer's subsequent tours. It has met with relative success in France and Belgium, and became one of her hits in Russia. Background, writing and release Farmer wanted to release "California", one of the most daring songs of the album, via the marketing for '' Anamorphosée''. Music Recording Sales Certification
Music recording certification is a system of certifying that a music recording has shipped, sold, or streamed a certain number of units. The threshold quantity varies by type (such as album, single, music video) and by nation or territory (see List of music recording certifications). Almost all countries follow variations of the RIAA certification categories, which are named after precious materials (gold, platinum and diamond). The threshold required for these awards depends upon the population of the territory where the recording is released. Typically, they are awarded only to international releases and are awarded individually for each country where the album is sold. Different sales levels, some perhaps 10 times greater than others, may exist for different music media (for example: videos versus albums, singles, or music download). History The original gold and silver record awards were presented to artists by their own record companies to publicize their sales achi ...
