Liv Dommersnes
Liv Dommersnes (née Strømsted; 28 September 1922 – 6 April 2014) was a Norwegian actress and reciter of poetry. She was a member of group that founded Studioteatret in 1945. Personal life Liv Strømsted was born in Kristiania (now Oslo), Norway. She was the daughter of storekeeper Jørgen Andreas Strømsted (1891–1942) and Signe Beatrice Hansen (1893–1984). She was married to actor Jens Bolling (1915–1992) from 1945 to 1952, and to physician Ivar Dommersnes (1913–1994) from 1968 until his death in 1994. She was also in a secret relationship with Johan Borgen, as chronicled in her 2001 memoirs ''Alt har sin tid''. Career She made her stage debut as "Helga" in Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson's play ''Geografi og kjærlighed'' at the National Theatre in Oslo in 1942, in the last production directed by Bjørnson's son Bjørn Bjørnson. Studioteatret
Studioteatret was a theatre in Norway. It opened in 1945, shortly after the liberation, with Claes Gill as its first theatre director. Studioteatret is regarded as one of the earliest post-war artistic expressions in Norway, and most of its members later played important roles in Norwegian theatre. Studioteatret closed 25 October 1950, due to economic difficulties, and its members were spread to various other theatres. Background During the German occupation the theatres in Norway were subject to a nazification process by the German occupants and the Nazi collaborationist government. The Nazis established a school called "Statens teaterskole", and demanded it to be mandatory for everybody that wanted to work in a theatre. The school was largely boycotted by students. When the Nazi government took control over the theatres by arresting resistant board members and inserting supporters in leading roles, the theatres experienced a general boycott from the public. Anders Jahre
Anders August Jahre (28 May 1891 – 26 February 1982) was a Norwegian shipping magnate. Jahre was educated in law, and worked as a lawyer in Sandefjord from 1916 until 1928. Meanwhile, he was also involved in the whaling industry, and he founded the whaling company A/S Kosmos in 1928, operating out of Sandefjord. He also established Jahres Kjemiske Fabrikker, a processor of whale blubber, as well as establishing a passenger ferry line between Oslo and Kiel. He contributed significantly to the development of the city of Sandefjord. Among other things, he financed the building of the new town hall. He was a major philanthropist, and was honoured with The Royal Norwegian Order of St. Olav in 1950 and 1962, as well as an honorary professorship at the University of Oslo in 1961. After his death, however, there was much controversy surrounding alleged tax fraud and hidden funds in overseas accounts. The Herman Wildenvey Poetry Award ( no, Herman Wildenveys Poesipris) is a Norwegian award. It is conferred every year on July 20, the birthday of the poet Herman Wildenvey, in an event held at Hergisheim. The award consists of NOK 15,000 and a bronze relief plaque designed by the sculptor Ørnulf Bast. The award is given to a person or institution that has helped foster interest in Herman Wildenvey's poetry and stimulated efforts for his poetic values to hold a greater place in everyday life. The Norwegian Actors' Equity Association ( no, Norsk Skuespillerforbund) is an association of Norwegian actors. The film premiered in Norway on February 17, 1955.
