Lochside Academy
Lochside Academy is a co-educational secondary school in Altens, Aberdeen, run by Aberdeen City Council. Its feeder primary schools are Abbotswell School, Charleston School, Kirkhill School, Loirston School, Tullos School, and Walker Road School. It serves secondary age pupils in the Cove Bay, Kincorth, Torry, and Nigg areas of Aberdeen. It opened in August 2018, at the start of the new school year. History The £47 million Lochside Academy was built on the site of Calder Park at Redmoss as a replacement for secondary schools in Torry and Kincorth, which both closed in July 2018. Lochside's catchment area covers all pupils that would have previously attended those schools. The school building contains a swimming pool, dance studio, sports pitches, games halls and a library. St Paul's Roman Catholic Academy
St. Paul's R.C. Academy is a Roman Catholic secondary school in Dundee, Scotland. The school was established in 2009 as a merger between Lawside Academy and St. Saviours High School. St John's Roman Catholic High School
St John's Roman Catholic High School is a secondary school in Dundee, Scotland. It was founded early in 1931 by the Marist Brothers, a religious congregation dedicated to education and under the patronage of the Virgin Mary. The school had eight houses named after abbeys in Scotland: Balmerino, Melrose, Jedburgh, Lindores, Paisley, Kelso, Iona and Dunkeld. In July 2011, the House system was streamlined to three: Dunkeld, Jedburgh, and Melrose. As of 2018, the school has an enrolment of 1,030 students, and although Catholic in outlook, welcomes all religious backgrounds, and none. Morgan Academy
Morgan Academy is a Secondary School in the Stobswell area of Dundee, Scotland. History The building was designed in 1862 by the Edinburgh architects John Dick Peddie and Charles Kinnear, opening in 1866 as the Morgan Hospital, a charitable institution providing accommodation and education for "sons of tradesmen and persons of the working class generally whose parents stand in the need of assistance". In 1888, Morgan Hospital closed and a year later in 1889, the school opened as Morgan Academy, often referred to by alumni as "The Morgan" or simply "Morgan". The architecture is designated as a Category 'A' listing by Historic Scotland. Its benefactor was John Morgan, the son of a Dundee maltman, who emigrated to India at the age of 20 where, with his brother, he became a wealthy indigo farmer. Harris Academy is a co-educational comprehensive school in the West End of Dundee, Scotland. Harris Academy was founded in 1885 and is the oldest state school in Dundee. Grove Academy is an 11–18 mixed secondary school in Broughty Ferry, Dundee, Scotland. History Grove Academy was established in 1889. In 2007, construction began on completely new buildings on the site of the Extension Buildings and huts. The buildings were designed by the Holmes Partnership built under a public-private partnership. Craigie High School (CHS) is a co-educational government funded High school situated in the city of Dundee, Scotland. The school is located within Craigiebank and has been serving the areas of Craigiebank, Douglas and Pitkerro for over 50 years. It is planned to close in 2025 after a merger between the school and Braeview Academy was confirmed in January 2021. History In November 1963, the Dundee Sub-Works Committee asked the Town Clerk to negotiate for the purchase of 12 acres of ground at Craigie Home Farm south as a site for a new secondary school. The contract was won by Charles Gray (Builders) at a total cost of £935,000. Braeview Academy
Braeview Academy is a secondary school in Dundee, Scotland. Situated on top of a steep hill (brae), it was originally named Whitfield High School. It was damaged in a fire on 11 September 2018, which destroyed around half of the building. In 2021, Dundee City Council decided to merge Braeview with the nearby Craigie High School with a new community campus on the site of the former St Saviour's High School which is to open in 2025. Baldragon Academy is a six-year comprehensive in the Kirkton, Dundee, Kirkton area of the city of Dundee, Scotland. It was originally named Kirkton High School until merging with Rockwell High School in August 1997. The school is set in over of its own grounds. The school has around 1000 pupils and serves the Kirkton, Trottick, St Mary's, Dundee, St Mary's and Ardler areas of Dundee. This area consists of a mixture of authority and privately owned housing. The feeder primary schools are Sidlaw View, Downfield, Craigowl, Ardler and Strathmartine Primary Schools.
