Braeview Academy
Braeview Academy is a secondary school in Dundee, Scotland. Situated on top of a steep hill (brae), it was originally named Whitfield High School. It was damaged in a fire on 11 September 2018, which destroyed around half of the building. In 2021, Dundee City Council decided to merge Braeview with the nearby Craigie High School with a new community campus on the site of the former St Saviour's High School which is to open in 2025. Whitfield, Dundee
Whitfield is a residential, social-housing scheme located to the north of Dundee, Scotland. Building of scheme commenced in the 1960s to accommodate Dundee's expanding population. Much of the housing was low rise, deck access flats, innovative for the time, built using the "Skarne" prefabrication system. The construction of the northernmost parts of the scheme, which were almost-exclusively Skarne blocks, continued into the early 1970s. Between 1989 and 1995 it was one of the four areas chosen for the Scottish Office programme New Life for Urban Scotland. Much of the deck access housing in the area was demolished as the area was remodelled. In the 2004 Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation, Whitfield contained two datazones (average population 1,000) in the most deprived 15% of datazones in Scotland. Dundee

Craigie High School
Craigie High School (CHS) is a co-educational government funded High school situated in the city of Dundee, Scotland. The school is located within Craigiebank and has been serving the areas of Craigiebank, Douglas and Pitkerro for over 50 years. It is planned to close in 2025 after a merger between the school and Braeview Academy was confirmed in January 2021. History In November 1963, the Dundee Sub-Works Committee asked the Town Clerk to negotiate for the purchase of 12 acres of ground at Craigie Home Farm south as a site for a new secondary school. The contract was won by Charles Gray (Builders) at a total cost of £935,000. Charlie Adam
Charles Graham Adam (born 10 December 1985) is a Scottish former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Adam started his senior career with Rangers. He spent much of his early senior career on loan to Ross County and St Mirren. While on loan to St Mirren during the 2005–06 season, Adam was part of the team that won both the Scottish Challenge Cup and First Division, playing in over thirty matches for the ''Saints''. Upon returning to Rangers at the end of the 2006 season, he became a regular under managers Paul Le Guen and Walter Smith. Adam was also part of the Rangers team that reached the 2008 UEFA Cup Final. Garry James Alexander Kenneth (born 21 June 1987) is a Scottish former footballer, who played as a centre back for Dundee United, Cowdenbeath, Bristol Rovers, Brechin City, Carnoustie Panmure, Adamstown Rosebud and Skonto Riga. He also represented Scotland twice at full international level. John McGlashan (footballer)
John McGlashan (3 June 1967 – 10 January 2018) was a Scottish football player and manager. Playing career In a long professional career, he played for nine clubs. He started his senior career in 1988 with Montrose, scoring some goals from a midfield position. This earned him a £50,000 move to London club Millwall in 1990. After loan spells with Fulham and Cambridge United, McGlashan moved to Peterborough United for £75,000 in 1993. A year later McGlashan moved to Rotherham United, where he stayed for three years. Whilst at Rotherham he was a part of the team that won the 1996 Football League Trophy Final. McGlashan returned to Scottish football in the summer of 1997, signing for Dundee. He made 11 appearances and scored two goals as Dundee won promotion to the Scottish Premier League in his first season with the club. Eddie Mair
Eddie Mair (born 12 November 1965) is a Scottish broadcaster who was a presenter on BBC radio and television. He presented his show on LBC between 4pm and 6pm every weekday until his last one, on 18 August 2022, after which he retired from broadcasting. He also hosted BBC Radio 4's daily news magazine '' PM'', the Radio 4 Saturday ''iPM'', and ''NewsPod''. He occasionally presented ''Newsnight'' and ''Any Questions''.
