The Grand Lycée Franco-Libanais (GLFL) is a prestigious French lycée in the Achrafieh district of Beirut, founded in 1909 by the Mission laïque française. The institution leads as the flagship of the French lycées operating in Lebanon. It is recognised as a French international school by the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE). Choueifat
Choueifat ( ar, شويفات, also transliterated Shuwayfat) is one of the biggest and most important cities in southeast of Beirut in Lebanon. The town is a Druze enclave that lies on the eastern side of Beirut's airport. The local population of the city is made up of mostly Druze and Christians minority, but in the last 25 years, many Beirutis have moved in to escape the capital's high rents, while many southerners have found Choueifat a good alternative to the crowded southern suburb known as Dahieh. Choueifat is the home city of the Lebanese Talal Arslan, Prince Talal Arslan and to other members of the Arslan family. The first mayor of Choueifat was Fareed Nabhan Choukier in 1893. International School Of Choueifat – Lebanon
The International School of Choueifat – Lebanon is the mother school of the SABIS group of schools. It was established in the village of Choueifat, Lebanon in 1886 by Tanios Saad and Louisa Procter, an Irish woman who was teaching in the area. It was originally for girls only. In the 1890s Tanios Saad visited England to examine the British educational system. He led the school until his death in 1953. The school was expanded and renovated under Charles Saad, who replaced Tanios. It opened its first overseas branch in Sharjah, UAE in 1975. In 1983 the school had to relocate due to the Lebanese Civil War (but resumed its original location in 1991). Schools were opened in the UK in 1983 and the US in 1985. Aintoura ( ar, عينطورة) is a town and municipality in the Keserwan District of the Keserwan-Jbeil Governorate, Lebanon. It is located 18 kilometers north of Beirut. The average elevation of Aintoura is 230 meters above sea level and its total land area is 71 hectares. Its inhabitants are predominantly Maronite Christians. The Collège Saint Joseph in Antoura, Lebanon, is the oldest French school in the Middle East. It was established in 1834 by the Lazarist priests, led by Fr. Andrew Francis. The school's current headmaster is Father Abdo Eid and its student body comprises 5500 students. Located in the valley of Antoura, the campus consists of more than eight buildings with several courts and gardens. Antoura still ranks among the top schools in Lebanon. Brummana ( ar, برمانا) is a town in the Matn District of the Mount Lebanon Governorate in Lebanon. It is located east of Beirut, overlooking the capital and the Mediterranean. Brummana has long been a summer destination for visitors and locals. It is also the green lung of the region, with many pine trees lining its streets. Brummana High School (BHS, ar, مدرسة برمانا العالية) is a private school in Lebanon. It is located in the village of Brummana, situated in Metn, Mount Lebanon, east of the capital city Beirut. This school was established in 1873, by the Quaker Theophilus Waldmeier (a Swiss missionary). Historically Quakers were among the pioneers in developing a modern form of learner-centred education which prized the worth and development of the whole child and student.
