The Western Province ( si, බස්නාහිර පළාත ''Basnāhira Paḷāta''; ta, மேல் மாகாணம் ''Mael Mākāṇam'') is one of the nine provinces of Sri Lanka, the first level administrative division of the country. The provinces have existed since the 19th century but did not have any legal status until 1987 when the 13th Amendment to the Constitution of Sri Lanka established provincial councils. The President's College is a boys' national school in Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte, Sri Lanka. Founded on 4 February 1978, its inauguration was the first official act carried out by President J. R. Jayewardene. History The college began with two grades- Lower Kindergarten and Year 1, with four teachers and 351 students. Elizabeth Moir School is a co-educational, international day school, located on two campuses in Colombo, Sri Lanka, which welcomes children of all nationalities aged between 2-18.
