Rajasthan
Rajasthan (; lit. 'Land of Kings') is a state in northern India. It covers or 10.4 per cent of India's total geographical area. It is the largest Indian state by area and the seventh largest by population. Ram Narain Agarwal is a noted aerospace engineer of India. He has significantly contributed towards the Agni series of surface-to-surface missiles. and is considered the 'father of the Agni series of missiles'. Chandra Prakash Deval is a Rajasthani poet and translator. He is also the convener of Rajasthani Advisory Council of Sahitya Akademi. Translations He has translated Bengali, Oriya, Gujarati, Hindi and Punjabi poems and books into Rajasthani. He has also translated Russian novelist Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s "Crime and Punishment" and Samuel Beckett’s play "Waiting for Godot". Rao Raja Hanut Singh
Rao Raja Hanut Singh (20 March 1900 – 12 October 1982) was a British Indian Army soldier and polo player. Biography Hanut Singh was born at Jodhpur on 20 March 1900, the third son of Sir Pratap Singh of Idar. He was educated at Mayo College in Ajmer and at Eastbourne College in Sussex, as well as at L'Ecole de Cavalerie in France. He served as a Page of Honour to George V at the 1911 Delhi Durbar He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Jodhpur State Forces in 1914 and commissioned a temporary honorary Second Lieutenant in the British Army in July 1916. During the First World War, Hanut Singh served with his father, who was one of the seven commanding officers of the 15th Imperial Service Cavalry Brigade that was formed from the Imperial Service Troops provided by various Indian Princely States to aid the British Empire during wartime. Prabhu Lal Bhatnagar
Prabhu Lal Bhatnagar (8 August 1912 – 5 October 1976), commonly addressed as P. L. Bhatnagar, was an Indian mathematician known for his contribution to the Bhatnagar–Gross–Krook operator used in Lattice Boltzmann methods (LBM). Biography Early years P. L. Gokulbhai Bhatt
Gokulbhai Daulatram Bhatt (19 February 1898 – 6 October 1986) born in Hathal (Sirohi) was a freedom fighter and a social worker from Rajasthan state in India. He was a member of Constituent Assembly of India representing Bombay State and chief minister of princely Sirohi state for a brief period. He along with seven others founded Praja Mandal at Sirohi on 22 January 1939 and was an active independence activist from Sirohi and was detained and put in jail for some time by British. After independence he opposed the division of Sirohi district and handover of Mount Abu to Gujarat. As a result of which Mount Abu remained part of Rajasthan, however, some other parts of district were transferred to Gujarat. Lieutenant General Sagat Singh, PVSM (14 July 1919 – 26 September 2001) was a General Officer in the Indian Army notable for his participation in liberation of Goa and later in Bangladesh. He held many commands and staff appointments throughout his military career. Early life and education Singh was born in a Rajput family in the village of Kusumdesar in Churu region of Bikaner State on 14 July 1919 to Brijlal Singh Rathore of Kusumdesar and a Bhati lady, Jadao Kanwar of Hadla. Brijlal was a soldier in the Bikaner Ganga Risala who served in Mesopotamia, Palestine and France during World War I. He was recalled to service at the outbreak of World War II and retired as an Honorary Captain. Narayandas Malkani (1890–1974) was a noted social worker and freedom fighter from Rajasthan state in India. He was an academic by profession. He was the eldest brother of K R Malkani. Bhogilal Pandya
Bhogilal Pandya (1904-1981) was a freedom fighter and social worker from Dungarpur in the Indian state of Rajasthan. On 3 April 1976, the Government of India awarded him the Padma Bhushan for his social services. The Padma Bhushan is the third-highest civilian award in the Republic of India, given for distinguished service to the nation. For his championing of education and rights for the poor and underprivileged, he is referred by the people of Rajasthan as "Gandhi of Vahgad". His home is in the Gandhi aashram area of Dungarpur. In 1938, Pandya was elected President of Seva-sangh, an organisation that engages in community service in the Dungarpur, Udaipur, Jaipur and Jaisalmar regions of Rajasthan.
