Victoria (Ontario Electoral District)
Victoria was a federal electoral district represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1904 to 1968. It was located in the province of Ontario. This riding was first created in 1903 from parts of Peterborough East, Victoria North and Victoria South ridings. It was initially defined as consisting of the county of Victoria, and the provisional county of Haliburton. In 1947, it was expanded to include the townships of Rama, Mara, Thorah and Brock in the county of Ontario. The electoral district was abolished in 1966 when it became part of Victoria—Haliburton riding. Alberta ( ) is one of the thirteen provinces and territories of Canada. It is part of Western Canada and is one of the three prairie provinces. Victoria was one of the original 25 provincial electoral districts in Alberta, named for Fort Victoria on the North Saskatchewan River. It was mandated to return a single member to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta by the first past the post method until 1917, and by instant-runoff voting from 1926 until it was abolished in 1940.
