An aerospace manufacturer is a company or individual involved in the various aspects of designing, building, testing, selling, and maintaining aircraft, aircraft parts, missiles, rockets, or spacecraft. Aerospace is a high technology industry. The aircraft industry is the industry supporting aviation by building aircraft and manufacturing aircraft parts for their maintenance. This includes aircraft and parts used for civil aviation and military aviation. Most production is done pursuant to type certificates and Defense Standards issued by a government body. Helio Aircraft Company
The Helio Aircraft Company was an American aircraft manufacturer founded in 1948. History The Koppen-Bollinger Aircraft Corporation was founded by Otto Koppen and Lynn Bollinger in Massachusetts in 1948 to develop a light STOL utility aircraft. Initially located at Boston Metropolitan Airport in Canton, Massachusetts, it was renamed the Helio Aircraft Corporation by the time manufacture of the Helio Courier commenced in the early 1950s at a plant in Pittsburg, Kansas. The plant, located at the Atkinson Municipal Airport was acquired by Helio from Mid-States Manufacturing Company in July 1956 and was almost destroyed by a wildfire in March 1966. Helibras or ''Helicópteros do Brasil'' S.A. (Helicopters of Brazil, Inc.) is a Brazil-based helicopter manufacturer which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Airbus Helicopters, a division of Airbus. Chris Heintz (21 November 1938 – 30 April 2021) was a French people, French and Canada, Canadian aeronautical engineer, known for his kit aircraft designs. Early life Heintz was born in eastern France on 21 November 1938, near the border with Germany, just two years before the Battle of France, May 1940 German invasion of France. His parents were Erwin Heintz, a scientific researcher, and Magda Heintz, an ophthalmologist. His childhood included a wide exposure to scientific and creative endeavours. Heintz's first language was Alsatian dialect, Alsatian, but he learned French and German when young and English after moving to Canada. Education Heintz attended ETH Zurich in Switzerland and completed their aeronautical engineering program. His family noted that he "helped pay for his studies by performing magic shows on city squares that included daring sword-swallowing feats as well as fire-eating routines." Hawker De Havilland
de Havilland Aircraft Pty Ltd (DHA) was part of de Havilland, then became a separate company. It acquired the Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation in 1985 and was purchased by Boeing in 2000 and merged with the Boeing owned AeroSpace Technologies of Australia (formerly the Government Aircraft Factories) to become Hawker de Havilland Aerospace Pty Ltd.
