Mike Hazelwood (water Skier)
Michael Hazelwood (born 14 April 1958) is a retired British water skier and a was the world overall champion in 1977. Career In July 1978, Hazelwood scored 3,038 points to win men's overall title in the Masters waterskiing tournament at Callaway Gardens, Georgia. In 1980 Mike Hazelwood set his first World Record in the jump event with 59.4 metres. He went on to break the World record twice more. In 1981 Britain hosted World Tournament Championships and Hazelwood won the gold in Jump. He competed as a member of the British team in eight consecutive World Championships, the longest competitive record at that level of anyone who has ever won a World Overall Championship. During that period, from 1973 to 1987, Hazelwood won three gold medals, including the one in 1977 for overall, five silver medals, and two bronze medals. Karen Morse (water Skier)
Karen Morse MBE is a British water skier who was a British and European gold medalist. Biography Morse is from Walton-on-Thames in England and started water skiing when she was eight years old. Morse started representing Britain in international water skiing events starting in 1971, and participated in the 1972 Summer Olympics when water skiing was a demonstration sport. She was the overall champion at the European junior championship event in 1974, and the British overall champion in 1975. In 1976 she won a gold medal in the individual event at the European water skiing championship. In 1981 Morse won the British women's national title, and took honors in the slalom and jump events. In 1986, Morse took gold medals in both the slalom and the jump events at the European championship, and won a bronze medal in 1986 at the KP World Masters event. Willy Stähle
Willy Juana Stähle (16 June 1954 – 27 August 2015) was a Dutch world water skiing champion. As a young child, Stähle lived in Venezuela, where she learned water skiing from her father. Back in the Netherlands, the family lived in Bergen and she went to school in Alkmaar. In 1968 she won her first Dutch national championship water skiing. The next year, at the age of 15, she won her first European championship, and in 1971 her one world championship, in the trick discipline. For that achievement she became the Dutch Sportswoman of the Year in 1971. Stähle won a gold and a silver medal at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich for women's figure skiing and slalom, respectively; however, Olympic water skiing was considered a demonstration sport at the time and her medals did not go toward the official count.
