Biplab Kumar Deb (born 25 November 1971) is an Indian politician and former Chief Minister of Tripura. He was the state unit president of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Tripura from 7 January 2016 up to 2018. He led the BJP to victory in the 2018 Tripura Legislative Assembly election, 2018 Legislative Assembly Election, ending the twenty-five year rule of the Left Front (Tripura), Left Front government led by the Communist Party of India (Marxist). He took his oath as the tenth Chief Minister of Tripura on 9 March 2018. Deb resigned from the post on 14 May 2022, a year ahead of elections. Jharna Das is an Indian politician from the Communist Party of India (Marxist). She is a Member of the Parliament of India, representing Tripura in the Rajya Sabha. She was elected unopposed in March 2010. Das is a member of the Tripura State Committee of the CPI(M). Before being elected to parliament, she served as the chairperson of the State Social Welfare Board.
