For example, an episodic series of digital audio or video files that a user can download to a personal device to listen to at a time of their choosing. Streaming applications and podcasting services provide a convenient and integrated way to manage a personal consumption queue across many podcast sources and playback devices. There also exist podcast search engines, which help users find and share podcast episodes. A podcast series usually features one or more recurring hosts engaged in a discussion about a particular topic or current event. Discussion and content within a podcast can range from carefully scripted to completely improvised. Acast is a Swedish-founded company that provides hosting, monetization and growth support for podcasts, and podcast advertising solutions for brands and media agencies. Launching in 2014, it developed a dynamic insertion technology which can target advertising within podcasts based on location, time, and personal data. The company champions an independent and open ecosystem for podcasting, where podcasts hosted with Acast are available on all podcast listening apps. Acast was founded by and Måns Ulvestam in 2014; together with Johan Billgren as co-founder. Acast hosts over 88,000 podcasts, with over 430 million listens every month. Patrick McDonnell (actor)
Patrick McDonnell is an Irish actor and comedian. He has starred in the RTÉ hidden camera comedy show ''Naked Camera'' and the sketch show ''Stew''. However he is probably best remembered at home and abroad for his role as Eoin McLove in the Channel 4 sitcom ''Father Ted''. Patrick McDonnell is a native of Dromiskin, County Louth. He studied in Dundalk CBS and St Patrick's College, Maynooth holding a master's degree in Irish history. Joe Rooney
Joseph "Joe" Rooney (born 1 October 1963) is an Irish actor, comedian and singer-songwriter from Drogheda, County Louth. He is arguably best known for his acting and in particular for playing Father Damo in the Channel 4 sitcom ''Father Ted'', appearing in the episode " The Old Grey Whistle Theft". Rooney had a starring role as Timmy Higgins in the RTÉ television comedy ''Killinaskully'', which ran for five series. Joe also wrote on the fourth and fifth series of Killinaskully. Dave Coffey
Dave Coffey is an Irish writer, director and actor. He is a native of Killiney, County Dublin. He wrote and directed both series of ''Dan & Becs'' for RTÉ (in which he co-starred) and has also appeared in RTÉ's ''Bittersweet ''and the music video for the single "Grace, Don't Wait!" by Irish band The Coronas. In December 2007 Coffey began writing a weekly column as "Dan " for the ''Irish Independent''’s ''Day & Night Magazine''. Sinéad Ní Uallacháin
Sinéad Ní Uallacháin is an Irish people, Irish journalist, actress, artist, podcaster, continuity announcer and radio presenter. Early life Ní Uallacháin was born in Ballineanig, County Kerry. She went on to study art and architecture in the Dublin Institute of Technology in Bolton Street. Career Ní Uallacháin became a radio producer and a broadcaster with RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta, presenting the weekday show ''Sinéad ar Maidin'' until May 2019, and contributing to ''Cormac ag a Cúig''. Eamon Dunphy
Eamon Martin Dunphy (born 3 August 1945) is an Irish media personality, journalist, broadcaster, author, sports pundit and former professional association football, footballer. He grew up playing football for several youth teams including Stella Maris F.C., Stella Maris. Since retiring from the sport, he has become recognisable to Irish television audiences as a football analyst during coverage of the Premier League, UEFA Champions League and international football on RTÉ.
