Patrick McDonnell (actor)
Patrick McDonnell is an Irish actor and comedian. He has starred in the RTÉ hidden camera comedy show ''Naked Camera'' and the sketch show ''Stew''. However he is probably best remembered at home and abroad for his role as Eoin McLove in the Channel 4 sitcom ''Father Ted''. Patrick McDonnell is a native of Dromiskin, County Louth. He studied in Dundalk CBS and St Patrick's College, Maynooth holding a master's degree in Irish history. He has played various roles in hit Irish comedy show ''The Savage Eye'', which is written and also co-stars David McSavage. He also is the co-host of the podcastTalking Ted from the HeadStuff Podcast Network". Dromiskin
Dromiskin (historically ''Druminisklin'', from ) is a village and townland in County Louth, Ireland. It is situated 10 km south of Dundalk, about 1 km inland from the Irish coast. History The village was home to a monastery for hundreds of years, which was reputedly associated with Saint Patrick. The first bishop of Dromiskin was Lughaidh, son of Aengus mac Nadfraoch the first Christian king of Munster. St Patrick reputedly pierced Aengus's foot with his pastoral staff during the baptism. Áed Findliath monarch of Ireland, son of Niall Caille, retired to and died at Dromiskin. The ''Chronicon Scotorum'' records his death at 879. O'Donovan records his death as 876 and the ''Annals of Ulster'' place it at 878. The next few hundred years were turbulent times for Dromiskin. St Patrick's College, Maynooth
St Patrick's Pontifical University, Maynooth ( ga, Coláiste Naoimh Phádraig, Maigh Nuad), is the "National Seminary for Ireland" (a Roman Catholic college), and a pontifical university, located in the town of Maynooth, from Dublin, Ireland. The college and seminary are often referred to as Maynooth College. The college was officially established as the ''Royal College of St Patrick'' by Maynooth College Act 1795. Thomas Pelham, the Chief Secretary for Ireland, introduced a Bill for the foundation of a Catholic college, and this was enacted by Parliament. It was opened to hold up to 500 students for the Catholic Priesthood of whom up to 90 would be ordained each year, and was once the largest seminary in the world. ''Moone Boy'' is an Irish sitcom created, co-written by and co-starring Chris O'Dowd for British broadcaster Sky One. The series is co-written by Nick Vincent Murphy and is produced by Baby Cow Productions, Sprout Pictures, Hot Cod Productions, and Grand Pictures. ''Don't Feed the Gondolas'' is an Irish comedy panel show, that ran for four series on Network 2 between 1997 and 2001. The show was hosted by Seán Moncrieff and the longest-serving panellists were Brendan O'Connor and Dara Ó Briain. The name of the show is attributed to a remark made by a Wicklow County Councillor, Jimmy Miley, during a meeting regarding Blessington Lake. When the meeting proposed putting a gondola on the lake, he remarked: "That's all very well, but who's going to feed it?"
