Lewat Djam Malam
''Lewat Djam Malam'' (shown internationally as ''After the Curfew'') is a 1954 Indonesian film directed and produced by Usmar Ismail and written by Asrul Sani. Widely regarded as a classic of Indonesian cinema, the film follows an ex-soldier in his vigilante actions against corruption. Plot Shortly after the Dutch recognise Indonesia's independence in 1949, the military in Bandung, West Java, establishes a curfew. Iskandar (A.N. Alcaff) has been released from the Indonesian Armed Forces and is almost shot when he arrives in Bandung. He stays at the home of his fiancée Norma (Netty Herawaty) and her family. The following day, Norma's father sets Iskandar up with a job at the governor's office while Norma and her brother go shopping for a welcome-home party. Indriati Gerald Bernardina (born 9 June 1942), also known by her stage name Indriati Iskak and after marriage as Indri Makki, is an Indonesian actress turned psychologist and marketer. She entered the Indonesian film industry and soared to popularity with Usmar Ismail's commercially successful ''Tiga Dara'' (1957). She appeared in eight further films and established her own girl group before retiring from cinema in 1963. She graduated from the University of Indonesia with a degree in psychology in 1968, and has taught the subject at the . Mieke Wijaya (born Miecke Marie De Rijder; 17 March 1940 – 3 May 2022) was an Indonesian actress, model, and politician who won three Citra Awards. She was crowned the best female antagonist in Indonesian film industry along with Suzzanna and Ruth Pelupessy. Wijaya began her career as a teenager and soared to popularity by partaking a role in Usmar Ismail's commercially successful ''Tiga Dara'', her name became increasingly popular after starring in the soap opera ''Losmen'' in 1987. Rara Patma Dewi Tjitrohadiseikusumo (26 January 1930 – 28 October 2008), best known under her stage name Chitra Dewi, was an Indonesian film actress and director. She was noted for her roles in Usmar Ismail's films of the 1950s, appearing in films such as ''Tamu Agung'' (''Exalted Guest'', 1955), ''Tiga Dara'' (''Three Maidens'', 1956), and '' Pedjuang'' (''Warriors for Freedom'', 1960), although she remained active in cinema until 1993 and won a Citra Award for Best Supporting Actress at the 1979 Indonesian Film Festival for '' Gara-gara Isteri Muda'' (''Because of a Young Wife'', 1977). Tiga Dara
''Tiga Dara'' (Indonesian for ''Three Maidens'') is a 1957 Indonesian musical comedy film starring Chitra Dewi, Mieke Wijaya, and Indriati Iskak. Directed by Usmar Ismail for Perfini, the film follows three sisters who live with their father and grandmother. When the eldest sister, Nunung, shows no interest in marrying, her family tries unsuccessfully to find a husband for her. Nunung initially rejects the advances of a young man named Toto, who instead dates her younger sister. However, when he becomes jealous and travels from Jakarta to Bandung to profess his love, she agrees to marry him. Produced using government credit and written in an attempt to cover Perfini's outstanding debts, ''Tiga Dara'' was intended to be commercial despite Ismail's disapproval of such works. ''Tarmina'' is a 1954 Indonesian film directed by Lilik Sudjio. It stars Fifi Young, A. Hadi and Endang Kusdiningsih. It received five awards at the first Indonesian Film Festival in 1955, including Best Film, Best Director for Lilik Sudjio, Best Leading Actor for A. ''Tamu Agung'' (''Exalted Guest'') is a 1955 Indonesian dramatic comedy film directed by Usmar Ismail. It stars Cassin Abbas, Nina Amora, M. Pandji Anom, and Chitra Dewi. The satirical political comedy, about the anticipation of the visit of a dignitary to a small isolated village in East Java, was critically acclaimed, although was disliked by the government.
