Chitra Dewi
Rara Patma Dewi Tjitrohadiseikusumo (26 January 1930 – 28 October 2008), best known under her stage name Chitra Dewi, was an Indonesian film actress and director. She was noted for her roles in Usmar Ismail's films of the 1950s, appearing in films such as ''Tamu Agung'' (''Exalted Guest'', 1955), ''Tiga Dara'' (''Three Maidens'', 1956), and '' Pedjuang'' (''Warriors for Freedom'', 1960), although she remained active in cinema until 1993 and won a Citra Award for Best Supporting Actress at the 1979 Indonesian Film Festival for '' Gara-gara Isteri Muda'' (''Because of a Young Wife'', 1977). Dewi also had a brief stint film directing in 1971, making her one of only four Indonesian women to direct a film before 1998. Cirebon (, formerly rendered Cheribon or Chirebon in English) is a port city on the northern coast of the Indonesian island of Java. Misbach Yusa Biran
Misbach Yusa Biran (11 September 1933 – 11 April 2012) was an Indonesian writer, director and columnist who pioneered the Indonesian film archives. Asrul Sani
Asrul Sani (10 June 1926 – 11 January 2004) was an Indonesian writer, poet and screenwriter. Biography Sani was born in Rao, West Sumatra on 10 June 1926. His father was Sultan Marah Sani Syair Alamsyah. Together with Chairil Anwar and Rivai Apin, Sani published ''Tiga Menguak Takdir'' in 1950. In the 1950s, together with Usmar Ismail, he founded Akademi Teater Nasional Indonesia (Indonesia National Theater Academy). Sani's first screenplay was ''Lewat Djam Malam'' (''After the Curfew'') which obtained an award in the 1955 Indonesian Film Festival. His other screenplays that obtained Citra awards were '' Naga Bonar'', ''Kejarlah Daku Kau Kutangkap'' (Chase Me, I'll Catch You), ''Titian Serambut Dibelah Tujuh'', and ''Kemelut Hidup'' (Life Crisis). Fred Young (director)
Fred Young (born Njo Tiong Gie) (31 October 1900 – 2 June 1977) was an ethnic Chinese film director and producer active in the Dutch East Indies and its successor state, Indonesia. He reportedly studied film in Hollywood as a youth, but only entered the nation's film industry in 1940. After he made his debut as a writer with '' Sorga Palsoe'', he was involved in some 36 productions, 23 as director. Biography Young was born in Semarang, Central Java, to Njo Gwan Djoe and Ong Kien Nio on 31 October 1900.
