Tarmina
''Tarmina'' is a 1954 Indonesian film directed by Lilik Sudjio. It stars Fifi Young, A. Hadi and Endang Kusdiningsih. It received five awards at the first Indonesian Film Festival in 1955, including Best Film, Best Director for Lilik Sudjio, Best Leading Actor for A. Hadi, Best Leading Actress for Fifi Young, and Supporting Actress for Endang Kusdiningsih. Plot After her husband Hadi loses all of his money, Tarmina divorces him and abandons their family, including a young daughter. She quickly remarries, taking a rich tycoon as her second husband, but when he has an accident when Hadi is nearby she accuses her former husband of the deed. Ultimately Tarmina's second husband leaves her, despising her cruelty. When Hadi is released from jail and returns to their daughter, Tarmina wants to ask him to take her back. Lilik Sudjio
Lilik Sudjio (14 May 1930 – 9 December 2014) was an Indonesian actor turned film director who won the Citra Award for Best Director in 1955 for his film ''Tarmina''. He was involved in 74 feature film productions since his debut in Fred Young's '' Saputangan'' in 1949. Biography Lilik was born in Makassar, Dutch East Indies, on 14 May 1930 to Astaman and his wife. Taking the pseudonym Astaman Jr., Lilik began his stage career as a teenager during the Indonesian National Revolution, joining the Bintang Timoer troupe with his father under the leadership of Djamaluddin Malik. In 1949 he made his film debut with a small role in Fred Young's '' Saputangan'' (''Handkerchief''). The following year he appeared in four further films, for three different production companies. Astaman
Astaman (also known as Tirtosari; 1903–1980) was an Indonesian actor active from the 1910s until the mid-1970s. He was a leading actor in the influential theatre company Dardanella and, after entering the film industry with 1940s ''Kartinah'', acted in 43 films. Biography Astaman was born in 1900 in Sidoarjo, East Java, Dutch East Indies, the son of an actor named Wagimin, and his wife, an actress. He attended elementary school there, only to drop out in his third year. At age ten Astaman joined his father's troupe Wagimin & Keluarga, which consisted of his father, mother, and two cousins. Fifi Young
Fifi Young (12 January 1915 – 5 March 1975) was an Indonesian actress of mixed French and Chinese descent who acted in at least 86 films over her 34-year career. Early life and stage career Young was born with the name Nonie Tan (; Tan Kim Nio) in Sungai Liput, Aceh, on 12 January 1915 to a ''peranakan'' Chinese mother and French father; her father may have been a serviceman during World War I. After her father died when she was a child, Young and her mother moved to Batavia (modern day Jakarta), where Young completed four years of elementary school at a Dutch-run school for Chinese. Young first joined the Dewi Dja' troupe as a dancer, using the pseudonym Dewi Maria. She later switched to Miss Riboet's Orion troupe, where she married the playwright Njoo Cheong Seng when she was 14. ''Lewat Djam Malam'' (shown internationally as ''After the Curfew'') is a 1954 Indonesian film directed and produced by Usmar Ismail and written by Asrul Sani. Djamaluddin Malik (13 February, 1917 – 8 June, 1970) was a prominent Indonesian film producer, politician, entrepreneur. He founded the Jakarta Indonesian company Persari Film. Personal life Malik was born in Padang, Indonesia, Padang, West Sumatra. His father was a Pagaruyung descendant, in the Minangkabau people, Minangkabau hinterland. He died in Munich, Germany in 1970. Nahdlatul Ulama (, , NU) is an Islam in Indonesia, Islamic organization in Indonesia. Its membership estimates range from 40 million (2013) to over 95 million (2021), making it the largest Islamic organization in the world.
