In 2000, his solo debut album ''Fíjate Bien'' won three Latin Grammy Awards. Juanes has sold more than 15 million albums worldwide. Raised in Colombia, Juanes began playing piano at age two. When Juanes was 17, he started his first band, Ekhymosis, in 1988, which went on to release eight albums, achieving recognition in his native country of Colombia. The track "Dos" from the album ''Niño Gigante'' in 1992 was very popular. José Benito Barros or simply José Barros (March 21, 1915 in El Banco, Magdalena – May 12, 2007 in Santa Marta, Magdalena) was a prominent Colombian musician, and composer of more than 800 songs in genres including cumbia, porro, merengue, currulao, paseo, bolero and tango. Biography Barros was the son of Portuguese Joao María Barros Traveceido and Eustasia Palomino, and the youngest of five siblings. He didn't know his parents, who died in his infancy. Édgar Alexánder Campos Mora, better known as Alex Campos, is a Colombian evangelical singer-songwriter. Campos has won three Latin Grammy Awards for Best Christian Album in Spanish. He has recorded duets with Christian artists such as Marcos Witt, Jesus Adrian Romero, Marcela Gandara, Lilly Goodman, and Jorge Celedon, and the well known David Toledo. Estéfano
Fabio Alonso Salgado, better known as Estéfano (born 19 August 1966 in Manizales, Colombia) is a Colombian musician, singer-songwriter and record producer. Along with Donato Poveda formed the duo Donato y Estefano, releasing three studio albums through 1995–1999. After the duo disbanded he went on to pursue a solo career with his album ''Código Personal: A Media Vida'' released in 2005. Estéfano has worked with Ricky Martin, Julio Iglesias, Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Shakira, Malú, Alexandre Pires, Enrique Iglesias, Gloria Estefan, Jon Secada, Paulina Rubio, Anahí, Noelia, Chayanne, Jerry Rivera and Thalía, among others. Fanny Lucía Martínez Buenaventura (born 8 February 1973), better known professionally as Fanny Lu, is a Colombian singer, songwriter and actress from Santiago de Cali, Colombia. She studied at the University of the Andes and received a degree in industrial engineering. She is the mother of two children, Mateo and Valentina. Fanny Lu's first job in the entertainment industry was in Colombia, as hostess to a music magazine called ''Siempre Música''. She then moved on to radio voice in the principal radio stations from her country. However, she wasn't recognized until 1998, when she made part of the cast from the Colombian soap opera ''Perro Amor''. Jorge Alberto Villamizar Iregui (born 14 October 1970) is a Colombian musician, singer and composer, leader of the band Bacilos, and one of the most representative Latin American singers. Villamizar came to prominence as the lead member of the band Bacilos. Bacilos released their album ''Madera'' in 1999, and in 2000 they recorded their first album with Warner Music, which was nominated for a Latin Grammy award for Best New Artist. '' Caraluna'' (2002) was released and won a Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album, and Villamizar was awarded a Latin Grammy for Best Tropical Song for the second single "Mi Primer Millón". Soraya Raquel Lamilla Cuevas (March 11, 1969 – May 10, 2006) was a Colombian-American singer/songwriter, guitarist, arranger and record producer. A successful Colombian music star, she had two number-one songs on Billboard's Latin Pop Airplay charts.
