Carlton Football Club
The Carlton Football Club, nicknamed the Blues, is a professional Australian rules football club that competes in the Australian Football League (AFL), the sport's top professional competition. Founded in 1864 in Carlton, an inner suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Carlton quickly became a dominant club in early Australian rules football competitions, and was a foundation member of the Victorian Football Association (VFA), winning the inaugural premiership in 1877. In 1896, Carlton joined the breakaway Victorian Football League (since renamed the AFL), and alongside rivals , and , is regarded as one of the league's historical "Big Four" clubs, having won sixteen VFL/AFL premierships, equal with Essendon as the most of any AFL club. Bruce Comben
Bruce Comben (25 October 1930 – 15 December 2002) was an Australian rules footballer in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Comben made his debut for the Carlton Football Club in the Round 1 of the 1950 season. He retired from the game at the end of the 1961 season. During his time at the club, he was Captain from 1958 to 1960, and won Best and Fairest in both 1957 and 1958. He was inducted into the Carlton Hall of Fame in 1989. Bruce died in 2002. He owned supermarkets in the Laverton and Werribee area, when they were named SSW. However, the Werribee branch closed and the Laverton store became Comben's IGA. Recently, the Laverton store has been sold and will no longer be called Comben's IGA. Ken Hands
Ken Hands (26 October 1926 – 22 December 2017) was an Australian rules footballer in the Victorian Football League The Victorian Football League (VFL) is an Australian rules football league in Australia serving as one of the second-tier regional semi-professional competitions which sit underneath the fully professional Australian Football League (AFL). Ern Henfry
Ernest Edgar "Ern" Henfry (24 July 1921 – 14 January 2007) was an Australian rules footballer who played for in the West Australian Football League, Western Australian National Football League (WANFL) and in the Australian Football League, Victorian Football League (VFL). He later served as coach of Perth, and also coached Western Australia Australian rules football team, Western Australia, having previously played at state level for both WA and Victoria Australian rules football team, Victoria. He was inducted into the Australian Football Hall of Fame in 2014. Career Henfry made his senior debut for Perth during the 1937 WANFL season, 1937 season, aged 16 years and 49 days, with only seven other players known to have debuted at a younger age. He played twice at state level during the 1939 WANFL season, 1939 season, at the age of 17, and then finished second to Haydn Bunton, Sr., Haydn Bunton in the 1941 Sandover Medal.

Bob Chitty
Robert Main-Warring Chitty (4 July 1916 – 4 April 1985) was an Australian rules footballer in the Australian Football League, Victorian Football League (VFL). Family The son of Alan Peter Chitty (1884-1981), and Hannah Evelyne Chitty (1887-1974), née Wilson, "Robert Mainwaring Chitty" was born at Corryong, Corryong, Victoria on 4 July 1916. He married Hazel Irene Leggo (1907-1976) on 26 April 1941. Chitty's brother Peter Chitty, Peter played VFL football for St Kilda Football Club, St Kilda. Later, as a prisoner of War in Changi Prison, Peter was awarded a "Brownlow Medal" for being the Best and Fairest player in the Changi Football League. He is the great uncle of Mona Ethel Byron. Robert Charles Atkinson (29 October 1913 – 25 December 2006) was an Australian rules footballer in the Victorian Football Association (VFA) and Victorian Football League (VFL). Brighton John Diggins (born Bryton John Diggins, 26 December 1906 – 14 July 1971) was an Australian rules footballer in the West Australian Football League (WAFL) and Victorian Football League (VFL). Family The son of Arthur Oswald Diggins (1878–1933) and Lucy Dolphin "Dolly" Diggins (1886–1945), née Mountain, Diggins was born on 26 December 1906. He married Amanda Eileen Murphy in 1928. He died on 14 July 1971. Subiaco Diggins began his senior football career at the Subiaco Football Club in the West Australian Football League in 1927. Edward Augustus "Ansell" Clarke (12 August 1907 – 15 October 2002) was an Australian rules footballer in the Victorian Football League. Jim Francis
James Arthur Francis (12 December 1910 – 16 November 2004) was an Australian rules footballer and coach in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Family The son of Henry Walter Francis (1883–1964) and Sarah Victoria Francis, nee Jackson (1884–1929), James Arthur Francis was born in Hawthorn on 12 December 1910. Maurice Richard 'Mocha' Johnson (15 January 1907 – 30 May 2000) was an Australian rules footballer who played for Carlton and South Melbourne in the Victorian Football League.
