CBC News is a division of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation responsible for the news gathering and production of news programs on the corporation's English-language operations, namely CBC Television, CBC Radio, CBC News Network, and CBC.ca. Nahlah Ayed
Nahlah Ayed (Arabic: نهله عَايِد) is a Canadian journalist, who is currently the host of the academic documentary program ''Ideas'' on CBC Radio One and a reporter with CBC News. She was previously a foreign correspondent with the network and has also worked as a parliamentary correspondent under The Canadian Press. Her reporting on contemporary Middle Eastern politics has garnered multiple awards, both domestic and international. Early life Ayed was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1970 to Palestinian refugees Hassan and Nariman Ayed. The couple had immigrated to Canada in 1966 after experiencing difficulty in Germany, where Ayed’s father Hassan had initially sought refuge, and lived in suburban Winnipeg until Ayed was six years old. The ''Ottawa Sun'' is a daily newspaper in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is published by Sun Media. It began publication in 1983 as the ''Ottawa Sunday Herald'', until it was acquired by (then) Toronto Sun Publishing Corporation in 1988. In April 2015, Sun Media papers were acquired by Postmedia. A Sunday edition of the newly named ''Ottawa Sun'' began publication on September 4, 1988 and a daily publication started on November 7, 1988. As with its sister papers, it has a " Sunshine Girl" feature, although in the past it also contained a "Sunshine Boy" feature. Past editors include Peter Worthington and Mark Bonokoski. ''Le Journal de Montréal'' is a daily French-language tabloid newspaper published in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
