Astrid Henning-Jensen
Astrid Henning-Jensen (born Astrid Smahl; 10 December 1914 – 5 January 2002) was a Danes, Danish film director, actress, editor and screenwriter. Early life Henning-Jensen was born in the Copenhagen district of Frederiksberg in 1914, to parents Ferdinand Smahl and Ruth Hanner. She graduated from secondary school (''realskole'') and began working as an actress in the theatre. She acted from 1935 to 1938 in theatres such as ''Alléscenen'' and ''Riddersalen'' in Copenhagen. On 10 August 1938, she married Danish film director Bjarne Henning-Jensen. Career Her marriage to Bjarne Henning-Jensen was of great importance to her career. She began working as his assistant in 1941 at Nordisk Film. The duo worked together on a number of films as co-directors, co-writers as well as assisting one another on individual projects. Kåre Bergstrøm
Kåre Bergstrøm (3 February 1911 – 24 June 1976) was a Swedish-born photographer and film director who settled in Norway. Bergstrøm was born in Värmland. He was assigned with the film production company Norsk Film from 1933, and eventually became a photographer. He photographed Toralf Sandø's film '' Den forsvundne pølsemaker'' from 1941, Tancred Ibsen's film '' Den farlige leken'' from 1942, Rasmus Breistein's ''Trysil-Knut'' from 1942, and Alfred Maurstad's comedy '' En herre med bart'' from 1942. After World War II he photographed Edith Carlmar's film debut ''Døden er et kjærtegn'', and Ibsen's ''To mistenkelige personer'', which eventually was forbidden to be shown in public after a judgement by the Supreme Court of Norway. The 5th Cannes Film Festival was held from 23 April to 10 May 1952. As in the previous three festivals, the entire jury of this festival was made up of French persons, with Maurice Genevoix as the Jury President. Arne Skouen
Arne Skouen (18 October 1913 – 24 May 2003) was a Norwegian journalist, author, film director and film producer. Biography Arne Skouen was born in Kristiania (now Oslo), Norway. His parents were Peder Nikolai Skouen (1883-1978) and Jenny Emanuelson (1883-1975). He graduated at Hegdehaugen School in 1933. He had three distinct career careers: journalist, author and filmmaker, partly at the same time. He was a journalist at ''Dagbladet'' from 1935 to 1941. From 1941 during World War II, Skouen was associated with the Norwegian Resistance Movement during the occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany. From 1943 to 1945, Skouen worked at the press office in Stockholm, London, and New York City. After the liberation of Norway at the end of World War II, he returned to ''Dagbladet'' as a columnist, serving from 1946 to 1947. He then worked at ''Verdens Gang'' from 1947 to 1957. ''Emergency Landing'' ( no, Nødlanding) is a 1952 Norwegian war film directed by Arne Skouen. It was entered into the 1952 Cannes Film Festival. The film depicts the Norwegian resistance attempting to hide shot-down American aviators from the German occupation forces. Plot An American bomber is shot down on the Norwegian coast during World War II. The airmen bail out and land at different locations. In spite of the German search for them, the Norwegian resistance picks them up and hides them in the attic of the local church, a center of operations. Things become tense, however, when the hideout is spotted by a notorious collaborator, and soon the protagonist, Hans (Henki Kolstad), has to get the airmen to Sweden. Erik "Hampe" Faustman (born Erik Stellan Chatham; 3 July 1919 – 26 August 1961) was a Swedish actor and film director. He appeared in more than 20 films between 1940 and 1961. Johan Jacobsen
Johan Jacobsen (born 14 March 1912 in Aarhus – died 7 July 1972 in Copenhagen) was a Danish film director. His parents were theatre manager Jacob Jørgen Jacobsen (1865-1955) and actress Christel Holch (1886-1968). From the 1940s Jacobsen directed a number of both popular and critically acclaimed films for the film studio Palladium. From 1947 onwards he was an independent director and producer. He produced his own films and those of his partner Annelise Hovmand (1924-2016) at his own film studio Flamingo. In 1959 he was a member of the jury at the 9th Berlin International Film Festival. His A Stranger Knocks (1959) was in competition at the San Francisco International Film Festival 1960. It was distributed in the US by Trans-Lux and played a major part in bringing down the American State Film Censorship system in 1965.
