This is a list of Grand Prix motorcycle road racers from the 1949 to the 2019 season, in alphabetical order, from the classes MotoGP, Moto2, Moto3, 500 cc, 350 cc, 250 cc, 125 cc, 80 cc and 50 cc. Women in Grand Prix * Inge Stoll (Germany) competed as a female passenger during the world sidecar championship between 1954 and 1958. Grand Prix Motorcycle Racing
Grand Prix motorcycle racing is the premier class of motorcycle road racing events held on road circuits sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM). Independent motorcycle racing events have been held since the start of the twentieth century and large national events were often given the title Grand Prix. The foundation of the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme as the international governing body for motorcycle sport in 1949 provided the opportunity to coordinate rules and regulations in order that selected events could count towards official World Championships. It is the oldest established motorsport world championship. Grand Prix motorcycles are purpose-built racing machines that are unavailable for purchase by the general public and unable to be ridden legally on public roads. Tomoko Igata
Tomoko Igata (井形とも子, born October 30, 1965) is a Japanese former professional Grand Prix motorcycle road racer. She competed in the Grand Prix world championships from 1992 to 1995. Igata is notable for being the second full-time female rider after Taru Rinne, to compete in Grand Prix motorcycle racing history. In 2016, Igata was named an FIM Legend for her pioneering Grand Prix racing career. Motorcycle racing career Igata competed in the 125cc All Japan Road Race Championship from 1991 to 1993, finishing in the Top 10 every year. Her best result was in 199q when she finished 6th in the Championship. In 1992 Igata made her Grand Prix debut at Suzuka as a wild card where she survived the treacherous wet track finishing 20th and capturing the attention of the media. María Herrera Muñoz (born 26 August 1996) is a Spanish motorcycle racer. Career Early career Born in Oropesa, Toledo, Herrera was the first female competitor to win a race in the FIM CEV Repsol series, winning the Moto3 race at Motorland Aragón for the Junior Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 squad in 2013. She added a second victory later in the season at Circuito de Navarra, and led the championship into the final round at Jerez. Ultimately, Herrera retired from the final race, and finished fourth in the championship, thirteen points behind champion Fabio Quartararo. Herrera was joined by Quartararo at the Junior Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 squad for the 2014 season. Ana Carrasco Gabarrón (born 10 March 1997) is a Spanish motorcycle racer, who is contracted to ride in Moto3 during 2022 on a KTM. She won the 2018 Supersport 300 World Championship riding a Kawasaki Ninja 400 with the David Salom Junior Team, becoming the first woman in history to win a World Championship in solo motorcycle road racing. She began riding a minibike at the age of three and was successful in the domestic junior motorcycle racing categories with victories in the 125cc Extremeño Speed Championship and the 125cc Murcia-Pre-GP Championship in 2009.
