Grand Prix motorcycle racing is the premier class of motorcycle road racing events held on road circuits sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM). Independent motorcycle racing events have been held since the start of the twentieth century and large national events were often given the title Grand Prix. The foundation of the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme as the international governing body for motorcycle sport in 1949 provided the opportunity to coordinate rules and regulations in order that selected events could count towards official World Championships. It is the oldest established motorsport world championship. Dominique Aegerter
Dominique Aegerter (born 30 September 1990) is a Swiss professional road racer of solo motorcycles, competing in both the MotoE World Championship and the Supersport World Championship. He won the Supersport World Championship in and 2022. He also won the MotoE World Cup in . For 2023, Aegerter will join the GRT Yamaha team in World Superbikes. Career Early career Born in Rohrbach, Switzerland, Aegerter started his career in motocross. He then competed in the ADAC Pro Junior Cup 125cc class in 2003 and 2004. In 2005 he moved into the equivalent IDM class, where he competed until the end of 2006. Also in 2006, Aegerter was called up by Multimedia Racing to compete in the 125cc World Championship. Augusto Fernández Guerra (born 23 September 1997) is a Spanish motorcycle racer who currently competes in the 2022 Moto2 World Championship, for the Red Bull KTM Ajo team. He won the Moto2 World Riders' Championship in . He is not related to MotoGP rider Raúl Fernández, and not related to Raul’s younger brother Moto3 rider Adrián Fernández. Francesco Bagnaia
Francesco "Pecco" Bagnaia (born 14 January 1997) is an Italian Grand Prix motorcycle racer competing in MotoGP for the Ducati Lenovo Team. He is the current MotoGP World Champion and a previous Moto2 World Champion. He is the first rider from the VR46 academy to win a world title in the premier class. Aspar Team
Aspar Team (formerly Ángel Nieto Team) is a Grand Prix motorcycle racing team from Spain, competing in the Moto2, Moto3 and MotoE World Championships. History The team was created by former world champion Jorge Martínez in 1992, when he was still riding a Honda RS125R. For 1993 Martínez expanded his operations into the 250cc class debuting with Juan Borja. For the next two seasons the Aspar team switched to Yamaha TZ125 bikes leaving the 250cc division. Ajo Motorsport is a Finnish Grand Prix motorcycle racing team, currently competing in the Moto2 and Moto3 classes under the name Red Bull KTM Ajo and in the MotoE class under the name Avant Ajo MotoE. Speed Up is an Italian motorcycle racing team and constructor founded in 2010 and based in Vicenza, Italy. In 2012 the company started building its own branded chassis under the Speed Up Factory name.
