Association Sportive et Culturelle de la Snim ( ar, الجمعية الرياضية و الثقافية لاسنيم) known as ASC SNIM is a professional Mauritanean football club playing in the city of Nouadhibou the capital of Dakhlet Nouadhibou Region. Its main sponsor and owner of club is SNIM (Société Nationale Industrielle et Minière), Iron ore company. History The club was founded in 1976 and is Nouadhibou's oldest club. The team was named CF Cansado (Club de Football de Cansado) when it was owned by Cansado from 2009 to 2012. The club as Cansado went to the 2010 Mauritanian Super Cup and lost the match 3-1 and the title to Tevragh-Zeina. ASC Sonalec
Association Sportive et Culturelle Sonelec (sometimes referred to as ASC Sonelec) is a Mauritanean football club based in the capital city of Nouakchott. The club plays in the Mauritanean Second Division. In 1995 the team has won the Mauritanean Premier League , their only title. The club also has two national cup titles which were won for two consecutive seasons in 1997 and 1998. The club is currently playing in the National Second Division in the Special Zone and was 5th of the 2014/15 season. After winning their only championship title ASC Sonalec was to challenge Boavista Praia from Cape Verde in the southwest, the tournament was abandoned and was out of the African Cup of Champions Clubs. This was Sonalec's only appearance, one of a few clubs in what is now the CAF Champions League that has never scored a goal and have never played a match. Kaédi ( ar, كيهيدي) is the largest city and administrative center of the Gorgol Region of Southern Mauritania, located on the border with Senegal. It is approximately 435 km from Mauritania's capital, Nouakchott. Overview The city sits within the "Chemama" Riverine zone along the north bank of the River Senegal where it connects with the Gorgol River. This region is one of the few areas of settled agriculture in the country. Football Club Tevragh-Zeïna ( ar, نادي تفرغ زينة لكرة القدم) is a Mauritanian football club based in the Tevragh-Zeina district of Nouakchott. The club was founded in 2005. History In 2009, ASC Tevragh-Zeïna reached the final of the Coupe du Président de la République but lost to ASAC Concorde 5–4 on penalties after the game ended 0–0. Atar ( ar, أطار, Berber for ''mountain'') is a town in northwestern Mauritania, the capital of the Adrar Region and the main settlement on the Adrar Plateau. Situated on the oued Seguellil, it is home to an airport, a museum and a historic mosque, constructed in 1674. In 2013 it had a population of 25,190.
