Lift (web Framework)
Lift is a free and open-source web framework that is designed for the Scala programming language. It was originally created bDavid Pollakwho was dissatisfied with certain aspects of the Ruby on Rails framework. Lift was launched as an open source project on 26 February 2007 under the Apache License 2.0. A commercially popular web platform often cited as being developed using Lift is Foursquare. Comet is a web application model in which a long-held HTTPS request allows a web server to push data to a browser, without the browser explicitly requesting it.
