Lifetime Friend
''Lifetime Friend'' is an album by Little Richard, released in 1986 and his first since the release of ''God's Beautiful City'' in 1979. Following that album's release and some 1981 recordings, backing tracks of which were used for TV appearances, Richard had made no recordings while he continued his career in the ministry. Following the release of his autobiography, ''The Quasar of Rock and Roll'', in 1984, Richard reemerged in the public eye and had begun to be recognized for his contributions to popular music as one of the founders of rock and roll music. Before Richard recorded ''Lifetime Friend'', his mother, Leva Mae, had died; Richard had promised her that he would remain a Christian. For this album, he decided to mix his trademark rock and roll sound with gospel lyrics, in a style that he called "message music" or "messages in rhythm". Richard Wayne Penniman (December 5, 1932 – May 9, 2020), known professionally as Little Richard, was an American musician, singer, and songwriter. Travis Wammack
Travis Wammack (born November 1946 in Walnut, Mississippi, United States) is an American rock and roll guitarist from Memphis, Tennessee. Described as an "instumental genius" and "a precursor to guitar-hero shreddding", he is known for his "magnificent guitar pyrotechnics", "hot and speedy guitar chops", and "wild guitar workouts" featuring early use of fuzztone and distortion. A child prodigy, Wammack's first record was released in 1957 when he was eleven years old, and at seventeen he hit the American charts with "Scratchy", an instrumental which peaked at #80 in 1964. He also charted briefly in 1966 at #128 with an instrumental version of "Louie Louie". Wammack worked as a session guitarist at Sonic Recording Service and Hi Records in Memphis and at FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, in the 1960s. John David (musician)
John David (born John David Williams; 19 January 1946, in Cardiff, South Wales) is a Welsh bassist and songwriter known equally for his work with Dave Edmunds and for his songwriting. Biography He began his musical career playing drums in his father's dance band Avalon. By 1968 he was playing bass guitar and sang backing vocals in Edmunds' first major group, Love Sculpture, best remembered for their 1968 top ten hit single "Sabre Dance". At that time he used the name John Williams. After Love Sculpture split in 1970 he concentrated on studio and session work, songwriting and engineering, as well as collaborating with Edmunds on his number one single "I Hear You Knocking", playing bass, piano, and percussion. Chart rankings are based on sales (physical and digital), radio play, and online streaming in the United States. William Everett Preston (September 2, 1946 – June 6, 2006) was an American keyboardist, singer and songwriter whose work encompassed R&B, rock, soul, funk, and gospel. Preston was a top session keyboardist in the 1960s, during which he backed artists such as Little Richard, Sam Cooke, Ray Charles, the Everly Brothers, Reverend James Cleveland, the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. God's Beautiful City
''God's Beautiful City'' is a gospel album by Little Richard, recorded at unknown dates in Nashville, 1979. After recording the album, Richard went on to record two unreleased tracks on June 17, 1981 – "One Day at a Time" and "Where Will I Go Without the Lord?" – before his career fell dormant once more. Some of the tracks have 1978 copyright dates to suggest a 1978 recording, though April 1979 has been reported. Reception The album drew mixed reviews and sold poorly.
