Lichtstadt Feldkirch
Lichtstadt Feldkirch ("City of Light Feldkirch") is a light art festival in Feldkirch in the Austrian state of Vorarlberg. It was first held in 2018. It is planned that the festival be held every two years. The festival Lichtstadt Feldkirch is a four-day biennial light show in the city of Feldkirch. In the nighttime, ight installations are presented at ten different venues. Many of the projects are created for the respective location. Light Art
Light art or The Art of Light is generally referring to a visual art form in which (physical) light is the main, if not sole medium of creation. Uses of the term differ drastically in incongruence; definitions, if existing, vary in several aspects. Since light is the medium for visual perception, this way all visual art could be considered Art of Light absurdly enough; but most pieces of art are valid and coherent without reflecting on this basic perceptual fact. Some approaches on these grounds also include into the Art of Light those forms of art where light is not any medium contributing to the artwork, but is depicted. Feldkirch, Vorarlberg
Feldkirch () is a medieval town in the western Austrian state of Vorarlberg, bordering on Switzerland and Liechtenstein. It is the administrative centre of the Feldkirch district. After Dornbirn, it is the second most populous town in Vorarlberg. Brigitte Kowanz
Brigitte Kowanz (13 April 1957 – 28 January 2022) was an Austrian artist. Kowanz studied from 1975 to 1980 at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. She was Professor of Transmedial Art there from 1997. Works Since the 1980s, Brigitte Kowanz's work focused on the investigation of space and light. At the beginning of this period, between 1979 and 1984, she produced paper and screen images with phosphorescent and fluorescent pigments in collaboration with Franz Graf. From 1984, Kowanz developed her first ''light objects'' from bottles, fluorescent lamps and fluorescent paint. Complex spatial images and light-shadow-projections were created using the simplest of means. However, light is not only a material, but also often a topic of Kowanz's works. Poolbar Festival
The Poolbar Festival is an annual music and culture festival in the city of Feldkirch in the Austrian province of Vorarlberg. Between 20,000 and 25,000 visitors attend the festival each year. Schubertiade Vorarlberg
The Schubertiade Vorarlberg is a music festival in Vorarlberg (Austria). A Schubertiade is an event dedicated to the life and works of the Austrian composer Franz Schubert. Montforter Zwischentöne (literally: ''Intermediate tones of Montfort'') is a contemporary festival for arts, science and dialogue in Feldkirch, Vorarlberg (Austria). It was founded in 2015.
