Liam Sammon
Liam Sammon (born 1946 in Galway) is an Irish former Gaelic football manager, coach, writer and former player. He played football with his local clubs Father Griffins and Salthill-Knocknacarra and was a member of the senior Galway county team from 1966 until 1979. He won an All-Ireland Senior Football Championship in his first year with the team, 1966. He won All Stars in 1971 and 1973. Sammon later served as manager of the senior Galway inter-county team from 2007 until 2009. Playing career Minor and under-21 Sammon first came to prominence on the inter-county scene as a member of the Galway minor football team in the early 1960s. He later progressed to the Galway under-21 football team. In 1965, he lined out in the provincial under-21 decider with Mayo providing the opposition. Murt Connor
Mortimer "Murt" Connor (born 1951) is an Irish retired Gaelic footballer who played as a left corner-forward for the Offaly senior team. Born in Walsh Island, County Offaly, Connor first played competitive Gaelic football in his youth. He came to prominence at underage levels with the Walsh Island club. Connor later won a two Leinster medals and six championship medal with the Walsh Island senior team. He also played for Éire Óg. Connor made his debut on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Offaly minor team. He later played for the under-21 team, winning a Leinster medal. Connor made his senior debut during the 1969-70 league. He went on to play a key role for Offaly in attack during a hugely successful era, and won two All-Ireland medals and three Leinster medals. The Kerry County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA), or Kerry GAA, is one of the 32 county boards of the GAA in Ireland. Dunmore MacHales GAA ( ga, CLG Dún Mhór Mhic Eil) is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Dunmore, County Galway, Ireland. The club is a member of Galway GAA. Teams at underage and Intermediate level play in the Galway League and Championships. Though the McHales are the first team to have won the Galway Senior Championship in 1889 the club has not won the Frank Fox cup in almost four decades, last winning the championship in 1983. Mick O'Dwyer
Michael O'Dwyer (born 9 June 1936) is an Irish retired Gaelic football manager and former player. He most famously managed the senior Kerry county team between 1974 and 1989, during which time he became the county's longest-serving manager and most successful in terms of major titles won. O'Dwyer is regarded as the greatest manager in the history of the game. He is one of only three men to manage five different counties (he was preceded in reaching this total by Mickey Moran in 2008 and emulated by John Maughan in 2018). Martin Breheny has described him as "the ultimate symbol of the outside manager". Paddy Cullen
Patrick Cullen (born 18 October 1944) is an Irish former Gaelic football manager and former player. His league and championship career at senior level with the Dublin county team spanned thirteen years from 1966 to 1979. Born in Stoneybatter but raised in the North Wall area of Dublin, Cullen was introduced to Gaelic football by the Christian Brothers at St Laurence O'Toole National School and later at the North Strand Vocational College. He joined the O'Connell Boys club straight after finishing his schooling and enjoyed a club career that spanned four decades from 1959 until 1982. Cullen combined both Gaelic football and soccer in his youth and developed a reputation as a fine soccer goalkeeper when he played in the local street leagues. Jimmy Barrett (Gaelic Footballer)
Jimmy Barrett (born 1949 in Cork, Ireland) is a former Irish sportsperson. He played Gaelic football with his local club Nemo Rangers and was a member of the Cork senior inter-county team from 1970 until 1978. Playing career Club Barrett played his club football with the famous Nemo Rangers club and enjoyed much success. He lined out in his first senior county championship final in 1970, however, Muskerry defeated Nemo in their first final appearance. Two years later Barrett captured that elusive county winners' medal when Nemo Rangers defeated UCC. Nemo's march to success continued later in the year as the club captured the Munster club title before Barrett lined out in the All-Ireland final.
