The fusilier damselfish (''Lepidozygus tapeinosoma'') is a species of damselfish in the family Pomacentridae. It found in the Indo-Pacific. They are found in the aquarium hobby. Pomacentridae
Pomacentridae is a family of ray-finned fish, comprising the damselfishes and clownfishes. This family were formerly placed in the order Perciformes but are now regarded as being ''incertae sedis'' in the subseries Ovalentaria in the clade Percomorpha. They are primarily marine, while a few species inhabit freshwater and brackish environments (e.g., '' Neopomacentrus aquadulcis'', '' N. taeniurus'', '' Pomacentrus taeniometopon'', ''Stegastes otophorus''). They are noted for their hardy constitutions and territoriality. Many are brightly colored, so they are popular in aquaria. Around 385 species are classified in this family, in about 31 genera. Caesionidae
Caesionidae, the fusiliers, are a family of marine ray-finned fishes in the order Perciformes. The family includes about 23 species. They are related to the snappers, but adapted for feeding on plankton, rather than on larger prey. They are found at reefs in the Indo-Pacific and in the Red Sea. Taxonomy Caesionidae was named by the French zoologist Charles Lucien Bonaparte in 1831. The family takes its name from the genus ''Caesio'' which was named in 1801 by Bernard Germain de Lacépède, the name derived from ''caesius'' meaning “blue”, as the type species of ''Caesio'' is the blue and gold fusilier ('' Caesio caerulaurea'').
