Leonie Harm
Leonie Harm (born 1997) is a German professional golfer who plays on the Houston Cougars golf team since 2015. In 2018, Harm was the first golfer from Germany to win the British Ladies Amateur Golf Championship in the event's history. Her British Amateur win gave her exemptions to multiple LPGA Tour events including the 2018 Women's British Open and 2019 U.S. Women's Open. In team events, Harm played at the European Ladies' Team Championship in 2016, 2017 and 2018 while also appearing at the 2018 Espirito Santo Trophy. Early life and education Harm was born in Stuttgart, Germany and attended a biochemical program at the University of Houston for her post-secondary education. The Vagliano Trophy is a biennial women's amateur golf tournament. It is co-organised by The R&A and the European Golf Association and is contested by teams representing "Great Britain and Ireland" and the "Continent of Europe". It is played in odd-numbered years; the Curtis Cup being played in even-numbered years. The event started in 1931 as a match between Great Britain and France. It was played annually from 1931 to 1939 and from 1947 to 1949, before becoming a biennial event from 1949 to 1957. Britain won 15 of the 16 matches with the 1934 match being tied. From 1949 to 1957 Great Britain had also played a biennial match against Belgium. The 2019 Arnold Palmer Cup was a team golf competition held from June 7–9, 2019 at Alotian Golf Club, Roland, Arkansas. It was the 23rd time the event had been contested and the second under the new format in which women golfers played in addition to men and an international team, representing the rest of the world, replaced the European team. The international team won the match 33½–26½. Format The contest was played over three days. On Friday, there were 12 mixed four-ball matches. On Saturday there were 12 mixed foursomes matches in the morning and 12 fourball matches in the afternoon, six all-women matches and six all-men matches. 24 singles matches were played on Sunday. The Arnold Palmer Cup is an annual team golf competition for college/university golfers. From 2018 it has been contested between a United States team and an International team representing the rest of the world. The teams consist of 12 men and 12 women. The teams are selected on the basis of nationality, not according to the location of the players' universities. 2018 Espirito Santo Trophy
The 2018 Espirito Santo Trophy took place 29 August – 1 September at Carton House Golf Club on its Montgomerie and O'Meara courses in Maynooth, County Kildare, Ireland. It was the 28th women's golf World Amateur Team Championship for the Espirito Santo Trophy. The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event. There were a record 57 team entries, each with two or three players. One nation, Lebanon, made its first appearance. Each team played two rounds at the Montgomerie Course and two rounds at the O'Meara Course in different orders. The top 27 teams on the final leaderboard, except Norway and France, all played the fourth round at the O'Meara Course. The best two scores for each round counted towards the team total.
