Lemonade And Brownies
''Lemonade and Brownies'' is the debut studio album by the American rock band Sugar Ray. It was produced by the band's director friend Joseph McGinty "McG" Nichol and executive produced by DJ Lethal. Actress Nicole Eggert is featured on the cover. Even though the album did not chart and was a commercial and critical failure for Atlantic Records, the band stayed on the label, going on to huge success. The music video for "Mean Machine" was featured in a ''Beavis and Butt-Head'' episode "Bang the Drum Slowly Dumbass". Musical style AllMusic describe the album as being "sub-Chili Peppers shuck-and-jive." The ''Rolling Stone Encyclopedia of Rock & Roll'' (2001) states that Sugar Ray was initially influenced by "a variety of sounds: Red Hot Chili Peppers-style punk-funk, reggae grooves, metal, hip hop, and a little bit of retro new wave." Sugar Ray
Sugar Ray is an American rock band formed in Newport Beach, California, in 1986. Originally playing heavier funk metal and nu metal style music, the band achieved mainstream popularity in 1997 with their more pop-influenced single "Fly". The song's success led the band to shift its style dramatically to the more radio-friendly pop sound with their subsequent releases. Their best-selling album, '' 14:59'', was released in 1999, and featured popular singles " Every Morning", " Someday", followed by a self-titled album in 2001 featuring the single " When It's Over". The band would release two further albums, '' In the Pursuit of Leisure'' (2003) and '' Music for Cougars'' (2009), though the albums and respective singles generally sold far less. Stan Frazier (musician)
Charles Stanton "Stan" Frazier (born April 23, 1968) is an American musician, record producer, singer, songwriter and restaurateur. He co-founded Sugar Ray in 1986 and was the band's principal songwriter and drummer until 2012. Frazier served as the producer for tracks and albums by Sugar Ray, Dirty Heads and Ashlee Simpson. In 2012, he starred on the BBC culinary reality show ''Chef Race, UK vs US'' and won a prize of $100,000 Frazier is the co-owner of the Original Sgt. Pepperoni's Pizza and A's Restaurant in Newport Beach, California. Rodney Sheppard
Rodney Sheppard (born November 25, 1967) is an American musician who is the guitarist of the rock band Sugar Ray. Life and career Rodney was born in Port Of Spain, but raised in Newport Beach, California. His mother's name is Gloria and he has an older brother named Alan. While attending Corona del Mar High School Rodney & friends formed a cover band inspired by the group The Jam. That band, initially called ''The Tories'', went on to become ''The Shrinky Dinx'', and eventually became ''Sugar Ray.'' On New Year's Eve 1998 Rodney proposed to girlfriend of 9 years- Gretchen Fyke. The couple married in Newport Beach, California on June 6, 1998. Mark Sayers McGrath (born March 15, 1968) is an American singer who is the lead vocalist of the rock band Sugar Ray. McGrath is also known for his work as a co-host of '' Extra'', and he was the host of '' Don't Forget the Lyrics!'' in 2010. House of Pain was an American hip-hop trio that released three albums in the 1990s. The group consisted of DJ Lethal, Danny Boy, and Everlast. The group's name is a reference to the H. G. Wells novel '' The Island of Dr. Moreau'', a reference carried further by the naming of their 2011 tour ''He Who Breaks the Law''. Funk
Funk is a music genre that originated in African American communities in the mid-1960s when musicians created a rhythmic, danceable new form of music through a mixture of various music genres that were popular among African Americans in the mid-20th century.
