Leinster League
The Leinster League is the second tier of rugby in Leinster, behind the Leinster Senior League. It has five divisions. The champions qualify for a round-robin tournament with the champions of the other three provincial junior leagues for one of two promotion places to the All-Ireland League. Rugby Union
Rugby union, commonly known simply as rugby, is a close-contact team sport that originated at Rugby School in the first half of the 19th century. One of the two codes of rugby football, it is based on running with the ball in hand. In its most common form, a game is played between two teams of 15 players each, using an oval-shaped ball on a rectangular field called a pitch. The field has H-shaped goalposts at both ends. Rugby union is a popular sport around the world, played by people of all genders, ages and sizes. Balbriggan RFC
Balbriggan RFC is an Irish rugby team based at Bowhill, Balrothery just outside of Balbriggan town. They are a junior club and are currently playing in Division 2A of the Leinster League. The club colours are green and white. The club's women's team is currently in the Leinster League Division 2 The current president is Caroline McFadden 2019-2021 and the vice president is Leigh O'Toole 2019-2021. The club also has youths boys and girls teams as well as men's, women's, minis and special needs teams. In 2020 the club finally opened the long anticipated clubhouse. Newbridge RFC is an Irish rugby club based in County Kildare, playing in Division 2A of the Leinster League. History The club was founded in 1996 after the amalgamation of the Curragh and Old Kilcullen clubs. Close to the end of the 1995/1996 season, it seemed clear that the future of rugby in County Kildare was under threat. Despite them having very successful youth teams, both the Curragh and Old Kilcullen clubs were struggling a great deal because of those players moving away. About New Ross RFC is an Ireland, Irish Rugby union, rugby team based in New Ross, County Wexford, playing in Division 2A of the Leinster League.
