Lehigh Parkway
Lehigh Parkway is a large, 629-acre public park along the Little Lehigh Creek in Allentown, Pennsylvania in the Lehigh Valley region of eastern Pennsylvania. It is the most prominent park in the city and follows the Little Lehigh Creek southward for three miles from center city Allentown to Cedar Crest Boulevard in neighboring Emmaus. The park features many scenic exercising trails in addition to bridle paths, a shooting range, and many fishing locations. The park includes the Lil-Le-Hi Trout Nursery, which hatches over 30,000 mature trout each year. The Museum of Indian Culture is located in the parkway. Each Christmas season, the city of Allentown puts on an annual holiday light display in Lehigh Parkway called "Lights in the Parkway". The Museum of Indian Culture is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and educational center in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1980, the center is dedicated to presenting, preserving, and perpetuating the history of the Lenape and other Northeastern Woodland Indian cultures. The city of Allentown, Pennsylvania is nationally-known for its park system. Much of Allentown's park system can be attributed to the efforts of industrialist General Harry Clay Trexler (1854-1933). Little Lehigh Creek
Little Lehigh Creek is approximately long and is located in the Lehigh Valley region of eastern Pennsylvania. It is sometimes referred to as the Little Lehigh River. It is the largest tributary of the Lehigh River. The creek flows in a winding course through the Lehigh Valley. It originates in Longswamp Township in Berks County and flows generally northeast through Lower Macungie Township and Salisbury Township.
