Legislative Districts Of Marikina
The legislative districts of Marikina are the representations of the highly urbanized city of Marikina in the various national and local legislatures of the Philippines. At present, the province is represented in the House of Representatives of the Philippines by its two congressional districts, with the districts' representatives being elected every three years. Additionally, each district is allotted eight seats in the Marikina City Council, creating a total of sixteen elective seats in the legislature of Marikina City. Philippines's 4th Senatorial District
Philippines's 4th senatorial district, officially the Fourth Senatorial District of the Philippine Islands ( es, Cuarto Distrito Senatorial de las Islas Filipinas), was one of the twelve senatorial districts of the Philippines in existence between 1916 and 1935. It elected two members to the Senate of the Philippines, the upper chamber of the bicameral Philippine Legislature under the Insular Government of the Philippine Islands for each of the 4th to 10th legislatures. The district was created under the 1916 Jones Law from the capital Manila and adjacent provinces in south-central Luzon, namely Bataan, Laguna and Rizal. Marjorie Ann "Maan" Teodoro (' Ang) is a Filipina politician and teacher who has served as the representative for Marikina's 1st congressional district since 2022, as a member of the United Nationalist Alliance. Congressional career In 2022, Teodoro ran for representative in Marikina's 1st congressional district to succeed the retiring Bayani Fernando, who ran against her husband in the mayoral race. She ran under the United Nationalist Alliance with the support of her husband's coalition, Team MarCy. Marikina's At-large Congressional District
Marikina's at-large congressional district was a congressional district for Marikina in the Philippines. It was represented in the House of Representatives of the Philippines, House of Representatives from 1987 up to its division in 2007. The district was apportioned in 1987, pursuant to the Constitution of the Philippines, constitution ratified that year, giving the city its own district after having been grouped with neighboring Pasig since 1984. The Legislative district of Pasig–Marikina was the combined representation of the Metropolitan Manila municipalities of Pasig and Marikina in the Regular Batasang Pambansa from 1984 to 1986. History Prior to gaining joint representation, areas now under the respective jurisdictions of Pasig and Marikina were represented under the provinces of Manila (1898–1899) and Rizal (1907–1972).
