Laura Ioana Paar
Laura Ioana Paar (née Andrei; born 31 May 1988) is a Romanian tennis player. She has career-high WTA rankings of 190 in singles, achieved on 31 January 2021, and 113 in doubles, set on 9 March 2020. Laura has won one doubles title on the WTA Tour, as well as 13 singles and 53 doubles titles on the ITF Circuit. Career She started tennis at age six and is coached by German Calin Alexandru Paar. In December 2016, she won the singles and the doubles at the ITF Cordenons tournament. 2022 Wimbledon Championships
The 2022 Wimbledon Championships was a Grand Slam tier tennis tournament that took place at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in Wimbledon, London, United Kingdom. Novak Djokovic successfully defended his gentlemen's singles title to claim his 21st major title, defeating Nick Kyrgios in the final. Ashleigh Barty was the reigning ladies' champion, but did not defend her title after retiring from professional tennis in March 2022. The ladies' singles title was won by Elena Rybakina, who defeated Ons Jabeur in the final. This year, the AELTC barred Russian and Belarusian tennis players from competing, because of the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. Bibiane Schoofs (born 13 May 1988), previously known as Bibiane Weijers, is a Dutch professional tennis player. On 11 June 2012, she reached her career-high WTA singles ranking of 142, whilst her best doubles ranking was world No. 83 on 2 April 2018. Lesley Pattinama Kerkhove (born 4 November 1991) is a professional tennis player from the Netherlands. The WTA International Tournaments was a category for professional tennis tournaments of the Women's Tennis Association from the 2009 WTA Tour until 2020, which replaced the previous Tier III and Tier IV categories. The winner of a WTA International adds 280 points to her WTA ranking. WTA 250 tournaments is a category of tennis tournaments in the Women's Tennis Association tour, implemented since the reorganization of the schedule in 2021. Earlier these events were classified as WTA International Tournaments. As of 2021, WTA 250 tournaments include events with prize money of approximately $250,000. The ranking points awarded to the winners of these tournaments are 280. This compares to 2,000 points for winning a Grand Slam tournament ("major"), up to 1,500 points for winning the WTA Finals, 1000 points for winning a WTA 1000 tournament, and 470 for winning a WTA 500 tournament. The old WTA Premier Mandatory and Premier 5 tournaments merged into a single highest tier and it is implemented since the reorganization of the schedule in 2021. The Grand Slam in tennis is the achievement of winning all four major championships in one discipline in a calendar year, also referred to as the "Calendar-year Grand Slam" or "Calendar Slam".
