Lara Heta (née Petera, born 21 December 1978) is a New Zealand professional squash player. In 2004, Petera finished runner-up in the women's doubles event at the World Doubles Squash Championships, partnering Louise Crome. Squash is a racket-and- ball sport played by two or four players in a four-walled court with a small, hollow, rubber ball. The players alternate in striking the ball with their rackets onto the playable surfaces of the four walls of the court. WSF World Team Squash Championships
The WSF World Team Squash Championships are an international squash competition organised by the World Squash Federation (WSF) and played between teams representing different nations. Countries enter teams of three or four players to represent them in the championships. In each round of the competition, teams face each other in a best-of-three singles matches contest. It has been held bi-annually since 1994 where it has alternated with the World Softball Doubles. Under the WSF rules, double pairs must be made up of two players from the same country. The WSF event has been held since 1997, being Australia 2019 last edition. Format In its most recent format, teams enter through their national governing body and the event is sanctioned by the WSF. The championships are played on courts measuring 32 feet (9.75 metres) by 25 feet – a court size approved by the World Squash Federation in 1992 for the international doubles game. This court size is the same depth as courts for the singles game, but appears to be slightly wider (singles courts are 21 feet wide). Louise Crome
Louise Crome (born 6 April 1978, in Waihi, New Zealand) is a former professional squash player from New Zealand. She toured for 3 years reaching a world ranking of 22. She was a member of the New Zealand Women's Team between 2004 - 2008 and won titles in Finland, Vietnam and Welsh Opens, and second place in Mexico, Los Angeles, Toronto Opens and New Zealand Championships. In 2004, Crome won silver in the women's doubles event at the World Doubles Squash Championships, partnering Lara Petera. In 2006, Petera and Crome won bronze at the World Doubles Championships and later that year she represented New Zealand at the 2006 Commonwealth Games at Melbourne. Crome graduated from the University of Auckland with a Bachelor of Commerce in Information Systems and a Masters of Business Administration with distinction from Victoria University.
