Lanz Bulldog
The Lanz Bulldog was a series of tractors manufactured by Heinrich Lanz AG in Mannheim, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Production started in 1921 with the Lanz HL, and various versions of the Bulldog were produced up to 1960, one of them being the Lanz Bulldog D 9506. John Deere purchased Lanz in 1956 and started using the name "John Deere Lanz" for the Lanz product line. A few years after the Bulldog was discontinued the Lanz name fell into disuse. The Lanz Bulldog was one of the most popular German tractors, with over 220,000 of them produced in its long production life. The name "Bulldog" is widely used in Germany as a synonym for tractors even today, especially in Bavaria. Lanz Bulldog D 9506
The Lanz Bulldog D 9506 is a tractor of the HR 8 series, produced by Heinrich Lanz AG in Mannheim from 1934 to 1955, with a production stop in 1945. In total, 3817 units were produced. The tractor was sold under the brand name Ackerluft (''field-air''). The Ursus C-45, produced in Poland from 1947 to 1959, was an illegal copy of the D 9506. Description The D 9506 utilises a frameless block construction. It has a rear live axle and a dead front beam axle. The front axle was available with optional leaf springs. The tractor has air filled tyres. The D 9506 does not have a lockable differential. The gearbox is a manual 3-speed Lanz gearbox with a reverse gear, and an additional range, this makes 6 forward gears and 2 reverse gears. Field Marshall
Field-Marshall was a brand of farm tractor which was manufactured by Marshall, Sons & Co. of Gainsborough, Lincolnshire in the United Kingdom. Field-Marshalls were in production from 1945 to 1957. However, the first single-cylinder Marshall came into production in 1930. Earlier Marshall tractor line The first single-cylinder Marshall tractor to be introduced was the Marshall 15/30 in 1930. It had a bore with a stroke (= 8.237 litres) and the maximum speed was 550 r.p.m., or 9.1666 revolutions per second. In 1932 the 15/30 was upgraded to become the Marshall 18/30. This model featured the same bore and stroke dimensions but the maximum r.p.m. was increased and the tractor's transmission was heavily modified. Landini SpA, is an Italian agricultural machinery manufacturer. The company designs and builds tractors. The company was founded by Giovanni Landini in 1884 in Fabbrico, Italy, Landini had just started making tractors in 1925, when Giovanni died preventing the completion of the first prototype tractor. Giovanni Landini's sons took over the business and saw the completion of the tractor project. Early models In 1925 the sons built the first authentic Italian tractor, a 30 hp machine. It was a success and was the forerunner of the viable range of Landini 40 and 50 hp models which appeared in the mid-1930s and were to become renowned under the names of Velite, Bufalo, and Super. Gorzów Wielkopolski (; german: Landsberg an der Warthe) often abbreviated to Gorzów Wlkp. or simply Gorzów, is a city in western Poland, on the Warta river. The Ursus C-45 and C-451 was a popular Polish model of tractor. It was manufactured from 1947 to 1959 by the Ursus Factory in Warsaw, and from 1960 to 1965 by Zakłady Mechaniczne in Gorzów Wielkopolski. History Production of the Ursus C-45 model began in 1946. Due to the need to begin production quickly, the Ursus company decided to copy the Lanz Bulldog D 9506. Examples of this German model were prevalent in the formerly German parts of post-war Poland, left behind following the expulsion of Germans at the end of World War II. Apart from its proximity and prevalence, the model also was advantageously high-powered relative to its simple construction and operation. Ursus is a district ''(dzielnica)'' of Warsaw, one of the 18 such units into which the city is divided. Between 1952 and 1977 it was a separate city. Until 1954 it was known as ''Czechowice''.
