Lancia 037
The Lancia Rally (''Tipo 151'', also known as the Lancia Rally 037, Lancia 037 or Lancia-Abarth #037 from its Abarth project code ''SE037'') was a mid-engine sports car and rally car built by Lancia in the early 1980s to compete in the FIA Group B World Rally Championship. Driven by Markku Alén, Attilio Bettega, and Walter Röhrl, the car won Lancia the manufacturers' world championship in the 1983 season. It was the last rear-wheel drive car to win the WRC. History In 1980 Lancia began the development of the 037 to comply with the then new FIA Group B regulations that allowed cars to race with relatively few homologation models being built. Rally Costa Smeralda
Rally Costa Smeralda is a rally competition held in Costa Smeralda, a coastal area on the island of Sardinia, Italy. The event was first held in 1978 and it was part of the European Rally Championship schedule until 1994. After the rally was restarted in 1998, it has been part of the Italian Rally Championship. The rally is based in Arzachena in the north-east part of the island. Unlike the famed tarmac rally held on near neighbour the island of Corsica, the Tour de Corse, the Rally Costa Smeralda is a gravel rally. Italians have dominated the results, the most successful driver in the rally's history is Paolo Andreucci who won the rally seven times between 2001 and 2013. 1982 World Rally Championship Season
The 1982 World Rally Championship was the tenth season of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) World Rally Championship (WRC). The season consisted of 12 rallies. By this time, the schedule format had become generally stable with only one or two changes to venues year to year. 1982 marked the return of New Zealand to the schedule in place of Argentina's Rally Codasur. 1982 was marked by the dominance of the Germans, with two German manufacturers Audi and Opel taking first and second in the manufacturer's title race, while Opel's driver, German Walter Röhrl, seized the driver's title. Top Audi pilots Michèle Mouton and Hannu Mikkola took second and third in the drivers' race, but their combined efforts were enough to put Audi over the top for the work's cup. Sergio Limone
Sergio Limone (born 24 July 1948 in Turin) is an Italian automobile engineer. He has carried out numerous sports car projects for the Fiat Group, including the Lancia Rally 037, Lancia Delta S4 and Lancia Delta for FIA World Rally Championship, and the Alfa Romeo 155 and Alfa Romeo 156 Touring cars. Career Mechanical expert, he graduated in engineering at the Polytechnic of Turin with a thesis on a Formula Monza car, a never finished car with its coachwork; in 1972 he joined Abarth, a brand that had just entered the orbit of the Fiat Group, working until 1975 on engines and applications relating to Group 2, Group 4 and Group 5 cars. Dallara is an Italian race car manufacturer, founded by its current President, Gian Paolo Dallara. After working for Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini and De Tomaso, in 1972 in his native village of Varano de' Melegari (Parma), Italy he created "Dallara Automobili". Lancia () is an Italian car manufacturer and a subsidiary of FCA Italy S.p.A., which is currently a Stellantis division. The 1983 World Rally Championship was the 11th season of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) World Rally Championship (WRC). The season consisted of 12 rallies.
