Lanark (provincial Electoral District)
Lanark was a provincial riding in Ontario, Canada, that was created for the 1934 election. In 1987 there was a minor redistribution and the riding was renamed to Lanark-Renfrew. It was abolished prior to the 1999 election. Renfrew—Nipissing—Pembroke is a provincial electoral district in Ontario, Canada, that has been represented in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario since 1999. It is represented by John Yakabuski of the Progressive Conservative Party. The population of the riding in 2006 was 98,803. Renfrew—Nipissing—Pembroke includes all of Renfrew County and a small section of Nipissing District around Algonquin Provincial Park. Lanark—Carleton was a provincial electoral district (or riding) in Ontario. It existed for the 1999 and 2003 Ontario general elections. The riding was created when Ontario's electoral districts were re-drawn to match its federal counterparts. It was created out of parts of Carleton and Lanark-Renfrew. It was abolished into Carleton—Mississippi Mills, Lanark—Frontenac—Lennox and Addington and a small piece going to Ottawa West—Nepean. John Alexander Craig
John Alexander Craig (March 26, 1880 – November 20, 1968) was a political figure in Ontario. He represented Lanark North in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1929 to 1937 as a Conservative member. He was born in White in Lanark County Lanark County is a county located in the Canadian province of Ontario. Its county seat is Perth, which was first settled in 1816.Brown, Howard Morton, 1984.
