Lado Chikhladze
Lado Chikhladze (born 15 June 1985) is a Georgian former professional tennis player. Chikhladze, a junior doubles finalist at the 2003 French Open, was a member of the Georgia Davis Cup team from 2004 to 2010. He appeared in a total of 16 ties, winning ten singles and nine doubles rubbers. All nine of his doubles wins came partnering Irakli Labadze, which is a Georgian record for a doubles pair. While competing on the professional tour he had a best singles ranking of 350 in the world and won seven ITF Futures titles. His career was interrupted by a life-threatening neck injury he received in December 2007, when he jumped into a pond and hit his head on the bottom, causing a broken neck. A year later, following several months of bed rest, he was able to make a comeback to professional tennis. Tennis is a racket sport that is played either individually against a single opponent ( singles) or between two teams of two players each ( doubles). Each player uses a tennis racket that is strung with cord to strike a hollow rubber ball covered with felt over or around a net and into the opponent's court. 2003 French Open
The 2003 French Open was the second Grand Slam event of 2003 and the 107th edition of the French Open. It took place at the Stade Roland Garros in Paris, France, from May 26 through June 8, 2003. Both Albert Costa and Serena Williams were unsuccessful in their title defences, both being defeated in the semi-finals by eventual champions Juan Carlos Ferrero and Justine Henin-Hardenne respectively. Georgia Davis Cup Team
The Georgia men's national tennis team represents Georgia in Davis Cup tennis competition and are governed by the Georgian Tennis Federation. Georgia currently compete in the third group of Europe Zone. Their best result was in 2007 reaching the quarterfinals in the first group of Europe and Africa zone. Irakli Labadze
Irakli Labadze ( ka, ირაკლი ლაბაძე, tr, ; born June 9, 1981) is a Georgian retired professional tennis player. His career-high singles ranking was World No. 42, which he attained in July 2004. He is the first Georgian player to reach the fourth round at Wimbledon as a qualifier. Career Juniors Labadze had a successful junior career, notably reaching the final of the Wimbledon boys' singles in 1998 and losing to future World No.1 Roger Federer. Together with Lovro Zovko he won the 1999 French Open boys' doubles. Pro tour Labadze's most successful appearance at a Grand Slam event came at the 2006 Wimbledon Championships, where he reached the fourth round. The ITF World Tennis Tour (formerly known as the ''ITF Men's World Tennis Tour'', and previously ''ITF Men's Circuit'') is a series of professional tennis tournaments held around the world that are organized by the International Tennis Federation.
